Crysis pirates is a pirates mod which will utilize the Cryengine to create a pirate-sim involving lots of pirates, arrggghhh and rum. Pirates will help man there teams ship whilst engaging in compelling and realistic combat with there enemies on the other ship. Jobs such as manning the cannons or boarding the other ship will be available.
We plan on the following:
Fully destructible pirate ships with realistic masts which collapse, etc.
Many pirate weapons to be used such as muskets, blunderbusses, sabres.
2 pirate player models, one for each team.
Fully modelled + damage modelled pirate ship based off of a galleon of our own design.
Mast that uses a semi realistic cloth modifier if one is available in the cryengine, otherwise one that uses the same system as the trees in crysis, which our mast will also use.
Optimized, lag free multiplayer gaming.
Controllable pirate ships with simple modelled interiors.
Useable cannons with projectiles that will realistically (hollywood-style) damage the other ship.
The ability to board the opponents ship in order to engage in close quarters combat with them.
Explosions, ragdolls, destruction and rum on the high seas.

May i ask, how many members (and how much experianced) are doing this mod?
I was just wondering, if you shoot with a cannon, will pieces of wood etc fly throu the air. And can you blow hole in the ships? I might be buying Crysis just for this mod ;)
Destructable ships sounds really interesting. Could be nice if more than 2 ships could sail the sea. 8 - 16 ships filled with crew (players) battling out, could be awesome!
