Crysis Wars is an enhanced multiplayer version of the popular game Crysis, developed by Crytek. It was released as the multiplayer companion to Crysis Warhead in the form of a free bundle on a separate disc.
Unfortunately, the game was affected by the 2014 GameSpy shutdown, leaving many unable to continue playing online. To address this, the CryServ multiplayer network was created in June 2014 to keep Crysis Wars alive.
Over the years, CryServ has fixed many of the original bugs, added numerous improvements and optional features, and introduced additional weapons and items that integrate seamlessly into the core gameplay. Key features of the network include:
CryServ supports the GOG and DVD versions of Crysis Wars. It can also be used with the free Crysis Wars Trial version available for download right from ModDB.
Getting started is easy:
The Steam version is also supported with slightly different steps - ask about this on the Discord if interested.
CryServ helps keep this forgotten multiplayer gem alive with regular updates, new content, and an active community. Whether you're a long-time fan or discovering Crysis Wars for the first time, come join the fun!
Cyrillic chat support is something I wanted to implement in the game for a long time, and with the help of AlyxOne, it's finally here in this update. To prevent the whole thing from ending up in cryptic characters on the server side, a corresponding adjustment has been made there as well.
In addition, the missile launcher's target display would occasionally flicker during target acquisition, especially for fast moving VTOLs and helicopters, so the entire targeting system was reworked to address this and other shortcomings of the original code.
We hope that those of you who can and want to use the things added here will like these changes 🙂 ...
- Cyrillic support added to chat
- Added Cyrillic support to the console
- Changed the color of the upper progress bar for spectators in the TA panel ( now also red )
- Added distance-based target acquisition tolerance for missile launcher and ascmod vehicle armament
- Added target visibility check for rocket launcher and ascmod vehicle armament
- The AscMod missiles and the rocket launcher have been tweaked for balance reasons due to the improved target acquisition.
- For the rocket launcher, the lock time has been increased from 0.3 to 1.0 seconds (the actual default value of the game).
- For the AscMod rockets, the maximum target acquisition distance has been reduced from ...
- ... 2000 to 750m for the Asian_aaa ( because of the better radar unit )
- ... 2000 to 500m for all other vehicles
- It should be noted: These missiles were completely OP without these changes.
- TACGunEX target acquisition reworked and improved
- The CVar ``cl_crouchToggle`` is no longer net-synced, players can now change it independently of the server.
- Fixed the rocket launcher ammo quantity in the buy menu not matching the quantity received.
- Various other improvements and tweaks

For all existing profiles, L-ALT is used to switch the chat language. This can be annoying, especially when switching between applications in Windows while the chat is open. If this bothers you, you can configure the key as you like: below on the screenshot you can see which option it is.
All newly created profiles will use R-ALT as the default mapping for this.
Prepare for an epic Crysis Wars multiplayer battle dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the game on CryServ.de
