Counter-Strike is a modification (MOD) to the excellent game, Half-Life. It modifies the multiplayer aspects of Half-Life to bring to it a more team-oriented gameplay. Counter-Strike provides the player with an experience that a trained counter-terrorist unit or terrorist unit experiences. The MOD is team-based featuring one team playing the role of the terrorist and the other team playing the role of the counter-terrorist. Each side has access to different guns and equipment, as well as different abilities. Maps have different goals such as: hostage rescue, assassination, bomb defusion, Terrorist escape, etc. Weapons include the usual assortment of pistols, shotguns, assault rifles, sniper rifles, grenades, demolition devices. Each side has access to a different subset of weapons so for example only the counter-terrorist can use the M4A1, and only the terrorists can use the AK-47. We are confident that we've created a MOD quite unlike any other.

I installed in the ..SteamApps\nameoftheaccount\half-life and I do not obtain to play
where I make the installation?
@ ubernub: No CS1.6 will not be replaced. This is like all other mods for Half-Life 1.
@zecarrera: You have to restart Steam after installation if its not in your games list.

There is a way to play this without steam, however. 1 con though: you cant really play it over Intenet, just lan and bots you can download.
Directions:
1. Install the folder into a blank directory (like a new folder)
2. Find the folder named cstrike, and put it in your Half Life folder.
3. Next, start half life and click Custom Games.
4. Activate Counter Strike 1.5 and youve got A steam free version of cs 1.5!

I don't understand how I do. I have cs 1.5 installed (not on steam) and I have Half-Life installed (not on steam) how do I install them on steam?

I just downloaded cs1.5 for steam and i installed it.
i can see it fine in my steam list and when i open it, it loads the map perfectly, only thing is i cant join
a CT or T team, it gives me the option to either join spectate or auto join team.

i tried playing cs1.5 retail verson online on the won2 servers but i cant find any nz servers so i get 200 and over ping.

hey, i live in nz, im sure there are some serverrs around, i know that theres one caled treshna, use xfire to find your servers

my problem is that there are no switch weapon models, no weapon sounds, no bullet holes, and i dont get a knife...did i install it wrong?
