Welcome CoH: MC fans!

You'll wonder, "is it the last saturday of the month already again?". No, it isn't, but we've been late the last 2 months, so we thought this month we'll come back with an early surprise! So you get the september update today, one week earlier than expected.

Hold your breath, we'll show you our animation masterpiece, the UH-60 Blackhawk!
Players who choose the Air Superiority doctrine will be able to take use of an Air Assault. It will consist of an Airbourne squad and a Stryker Mobile gun system, both delivered by air disposal. The Airbourne squad will be carried to its destination by the Blackhawk Helicopter, fast-roping their way down into combat. Doesn't that sound sweet? Take a look yourself and watch the demonstration movie.

Just like for our last trailer, the background music is not just generic, but it is one of our new soundtracks, explicitly made for our mod. This time it's the menu background sountrack. Enjoy.

hey i'm following this mod for some time now and i wanted to say that its amazing.really great work guys.i just wanted to ask why the us dont have any non doctrinal artillery(just like in vcoh):(. thats all i wanted to ask for now, pls reply fast. keep up the good work.

The U.S. does have non-doctrinal artillery, the M106 (M113 equipped with mortar) is a fast and mobile artillery unit. A lot of heavy artillery wouldn't fit the U.S., as they are about fast and versatile units. The doctrines allow for enough firepower though.

thanks for your fast reply, i know that the U.S have the mortar tank but i was thinking of something like the MLRS. a mobile very accurate piece of rocket arttilery.but i guess you guys know what youre doing.i was only asking by the way.and i have one more thing to ask, in VCOH the U.S rifelmen get defeated by volksgrenadiers (when not upgraded). So i would like to know if for example a militia squad will defeat a unupgraded U.S rifelmen squad?that would be it. reply fast pls and keep up the great work.

I am following this mod since it started and I must say that I am very excited about this . In fact I thought you would be "dead" a month or two after your beginning but you proved me wrong . The animations are indeed a masterpiece but I couldn't help noticing throughout your monthly updates that this mod is a complete overhaul that aims to bring the game into a new level while maintaining the basic , core features of coh and not expanding them . To make myself clear , I don't see a vast variety of units to choose from , neither more abilities that Blitzkrieg and other mods have . You are making a HUGE work there and you are missing some easy(for you) things that could make the mod twice as good . For example , the Air doctrine could be more than : 1) infantry landing 2) Bombing Run 3) Supplies like in normal coh . It could have up to 20 abilities that would totaly change how you play the game . Just a suggestion . Keep up the good work

Hello DaredevilGR, thanks for your long fellowship =)
Regarding your remarks. You have pointed it out very well.

"that this mod is a complete overhaul that aims to bring the game into a new level while maintaining the basic , core features of coh"

This is EXACTLY our goal. You can read this in the mod description on our homepage Moderncombat.blacksandstudio.com . The reason we aim for this is that we are still of the oppinion that vanilla CoH in all it's glory is the best way to enjoy CoH. And we aim to carry this into the modern setting, trying to conserve the overall gameplay.

I however disagree that we do not have a variety of different units to choose from. The amount of different units is about the same as in vCoH.

Though we explicitly do NOT want to use the expanded doctrines, like blitzkrieg! This may be good to create a bigger variety for games against the AI or even between casual players. But our goal is to make this mod suitable for the whole playerbase, especially including competitive players. In a game between skilled human players, everyone will use abilities to their full potential. Such a huge collection of doctrine abilities creates an incredible number of combinations, which are near impossible to balance well. Even the standard CoH model is already an extremely complex game, as you can see from vCoH balance patches 5 years after release.
In addition, those additions would certainly not be "easy things" as you name them. All those further abilities would require new artwork, animations, UI art, etc. etc. Remember that we have to build everything from scratch. We cannot rely on existing material, like WW2 mods.

In this respect, i hope you understand that our mod is already an insane investment of time, at the limit! All to create an awesome modern combat RTS experience in the CoH environment, for you!

Thanks for your fast reply . First I would like to point out that "easy things" was actually a compliment for your great work , I have tried modding the game myself and I know it is time spenting . Secondly , I gave blitzkrieg as an example not only by the extremely big command trees but that each company SPECIALIZES in its name . For example , when I select air superiority I would like to use air as my primary force , not as a secondary weapon . My point ? I don't really care for the number of the abilities as long as the existing abilities do what they should and they are not just a small part of the game . Thirdly , by unit variety I was a little off my point . I don't really care if you have one type of unit , as long as the player can really use it with a variety of ways . Finally I understand that this mod requires a huge investement of time , as you pointed out . I understand it and I will not critisize you in any way . Thanks for replying

to answer your point about variety of use for individual units. We have a basic concept with US being adaptive and PLA being specialized. This is to make both factions different to each other. It's similar to vCoH US vs WM.
In this respect, one example. The US Riflemen are the most adaptive piece of infantry you can think of. If you include all doctrines they have a total of 5 upgrades available (grenades, M203 underslung launchers, M249 SAW, AT4's, Thermal vision googles), which let them adept to a variety of different battle situations.

The only thing I find wrong with this doctrinal support is the wrong spelling.

It's British English when it should be American English so for example, "Airbourne" should be "Airborn", "Armoured" would be "Armored" etc.

It's not that much of a problem but it kind of ruins correct designations used by US military.

Only in the news report it's been spelled in British English. I just checked all the UCS entries, and all entries are spelled 'Airborne'. You're right about the 'armour' part though. It's a lot of entries that would have to be changed, but I'll put it up, no guarantees though

We've been using British English in general (Australian UCS writer), but proper/title nouns are spelled using authentic US English. For example, words like "armoured" would never be spelled with a "u" when used in official terminology.

As Monkey said, the word "airborne" is never spelled with a "u" in-game, and was only spelled incorrectly in the news post above, as English is not the writer's native language (he's not our primary writer). I assure you that it's an isolated incident.
