Looks good to me, great work.

It is just a hint :P
Check out Moderncombat.blacksandstudio.com for the full feature
oops sooo sorry :D
excelent work guys ;)
Nice!
So I just poured over your web page, it is amazing!!! I cannot wait for this to be released!
40fuel to get standard grenades? Isnt that a bit to expensive?
Same as the vCoH gernades...
So? This is Modern Warfare, I think grenades are more common and cheap to make than in WW2!
It's about gameplay, not about how it's in real life. Also, if you are going to make a statement, please back it up with proper sources.
What? You want sources to believe a grenade is cheaper now than in 1942?
And if you are going to keep the vCoH cost of grenades, why dont you keep the same price for the riflemen?
[/sarcasm]
And isnt this gameplay based on real life?
But anyways, I see rational questions are not welcome here, so goodbye.
Balance > Realism.
Sorry, if my friend sounded rude.
You have to understand, that we are creating a game here, not a simulation. Real life gives us examples, but in the end we have to put things together so that they work in the framework of our layout. It might not be obvious to you just from a single stats page, yet.
It's a better deal getting the grenade tube then the actual grenades. Considering the grenades cost a healthy sum to use.
My only objection is, the Panzerfaust costs the same as the Mk2 grenade because the Panzerfaust is about the same power as a grenade.
The AT-4 is a 84mm recoiless rifle. It does *serious* damage to most tanks and actually will blow massive holes in buildings. It's a whole lot more powerful than a grenade... so shouldn't their effectiveness be proportional to their cost, too? A grenade doesn't cost the same as a recoiless antitank rocket... In fact, an M67 grenade only costs about $20.
Also, I'm not sure if you guys are aware of this, but M249 SAWs are basically standard issue. One of out of every four or five guys carries one to begin with. But I guess it makes sense for the airborne doctorine because it allows you to move. Maybe an M240 machine gun as a upgrade for all doctorines would make sense, much like the Wehrmacht MG42 or the American BAR?
Maybe he didn't see the "Global Upgrade" part...
How i can download it? pls tell my it!!!!
I am thoroughly upset about the loss of mortar squads, I loved those guys! *Sniff I guess I will just have to make due with the more mobile, more powerful, and better armored Mortar carrier. But really if you could some how make the carrier a reward unit or optional I'd be forever in your debt. That is my only worry at this point. Great Job!
There are mortar squads on the Chinese team, so I guess you could just use them
the database is not completely filled, yet. there are still units not listed. take a look at the layout to get a better overall view.
i get the sense that i may never see this mod before i have to ship out... sigh.... well maybe after my tour is over ...
Where's the Like Button :D
Men i thought you guys would give the Riflemen M16A4. M4 carbine should be given to special squad.
The M4 carbine is standard issue in the U.S. Army, M16A4 is standard issue for U.S. Marines, which aren't represented.
He has a point about the M4 Carines, I've checked and all branches still use it.
The M16A2 has been phased out quite some time ago as frontline weapon. Yes, the M16A2 still is in (limited) use with second line troops, such as Engineers. Which is why the engineers in the mod use M16's. ;) Frontline units, which is pretty much the rest of the U.S. infantry in-game, are issued M4's. The M16A4 is the standard issue of the US Marine Corps, but that's a different branch than we're portraying.
"At the present time, the M4 carbine is used as a front-line weapon by US Army, Marine Corps and SOCOM operators in Iraq and Afghanistan. "
As it says on Worldguns.ru, as well as the hundreds, if not thousands of pictures of U.S. troops carrying M4's into battle. ;)
Well surely in combat all soldiers don't go in with only M4s, it's only a point but adding another rifle (SCAR?) to the squad similar to VCoH riflemen having a carbine in the squad.
They don't go just with M4's into battle, M203 grenade launcher attachments, M249's, M240's, AT4's, grenades, mortars and heavy machineguns as well. All of which are represented in the mod. ;) The SCAR L/H was only used by SOCOM (Special Operations Command), which didn't acquired a lot of SCARS. The only one's in stock are a few L (5.56mm) versions, with a larger stock of H and Mk20, both 7.62mm. However, there is no use adding the SCAR family, as we already have plenty and most of the common small arms in-game. For fire support the Riflemen can be upgraded with M249's, M203's or AT4's depending on the doctrine. The M4 is already a carbine, adding a SCAR wouldn't fit, as the riflemen the frontline divisional troops and not SOCOM. The Green Berets (SOCOM) in the mod already use (modified) M4's, and can be upgraded with either MP5SD's or a single M82. I think that the weapon layout is not only authentic to how it's currently issued to frontline troops, but also more than enough. :)
you get to use the m16s in the army if you wamt
Hate to break it to you, but no, you don't... Unless you are with Group, you get what they give you.
Oh BTW can you guys sneak peak some new maps in the mod ?
Why AT4 Disposable Rocket Launcher? Dont the US Soldiers use LAW to fight tanks?
Because it's the main light anti tank weapon of the U.S. Army.
LAW isn't even used anymore. The At4 replaced it.
The LAW is in use with US forces in A'stan, it's not the main light anti tank weapon anymore.
Upload.wikimedia.org
I spent 10 years in service (4 with SF), and out of all my deployments and training, I only used the LAW in training. SMAWs and AT-4's are like 90% of our operating rocket weapons
can the riflemen use smoke grenade?
Nah.
after reviewing all the different US infantry units may i suggest that the green berets actually wear their berets or at least a boonie hat to help give them some distinction on the field, between all the rifleman variants they look basically the same imo
Sending them into combat with a beret would be silly. They have different weapons, are a smaller 4 men squad oppose to the standard 5 men Riflesquad, and have multicam camouflage, which makes them stand out from the blue/grayish UCP camouflage all other units wear.
umm the british commandos in the vCOH wore them, and besides john wayne wore his through out the whole damn movie! but you do what you want. maybe later on you can patch it if enough people like the idea :)
Google US Green Berets afghanistan, count the one's wearing a beret into combat. ;) We want to keep the equipment authentic, and portray the combat loadout of a soldier as accurately as we can, within our (time)limits. They stand out good enough. ;)
Boonies or Operator Hats would be cool... I wore my Operator Hat whenever I wasn't being watched by higher-ups.
uhmmmm, nice work but i think american's infantry often use M16
I thought M203 uses 40 mm low-velocity grenades...
I am a 11 Bang bang(11Bravo, or infantry) serving in the US army, stationed at foot hood, Division West, 3rd Cavalry Regiment. And NO we dont use M16's we use M4's, not M4A1's which are the automatic versions, just M4's which have 2 fire modes Semi and Burst, and NO we dont get to choose... anything... EVER.
And please before you bring up the whole Cav thing, we transfered over to a stryker unit last year, so all the Cav scout got replaced by infantry.
Also, love the 2nd infantry division patch on them, looks awsome, though the patch is on the deployed side and not the current unit side... but im just knit picking now! :D great work guys
I'm glad they changed how the upgrades worked.
