Personally I think the impact FX is a bit too much. I know a railgun is supposed to make a big bang, but this looks more like it's a miniature Ion Cannon.

Yeah, I think that half size would be perfect.

Also both the explosion and the beams disappear all of a sudden instead of phasing out, making it look rather awkward. Other than that they look very nice.

Looks cool but railguns in Tiberian Dawn atmosphere looks so strange
I hope it's unique for TFT?

This isn't even what they looked like in Tiberian Sun. It was just a solid 'beam' that left a particle trail. This looks like some kinda anime energy weapon.

If you're gonna make it look like this, I suggest chalking it up to Renegade's tech tree and just call it "portable ion cannon" the timeline is about right.

Description

Even though the First Tiberian War has ended, there are still organized Nod splinter cells remaining in parts of Africa and the Middle East. In response, GDI R&D continues to upgrade and utilize experimental weaponry such as the newly developed RailGun weapons system that has been retrofitted and deployed to a limited number of Mammoth Tanks and Base Defenses.
