Eastern Front is a free mod for Company of Heroes. Following the ethos of mimicking a Relic Entertainment expansion pack, Eastern Front has succeeded in adding two full new factions, the Soviet Red Army and the German Ostheer, packed with unique and exciting units to the existing armies - a feat never before achieved in the Company of Heroes world.

(buried)

It was good up until the parts with the fake singing. Something is jarring about different pitches of "oh."

Some legit russian lyrics would be nice to update the song with, it sounds like it was made in SUPER XTREME MARIO PAINT once the voices kick in.

I hear what you're saying, but getting a real choir together that can sing in russian and recording them is not exactly cheap or easy. Mimicking the russian language at that speed in a software instrument would have made it sound even worse so I did the best I could with what I had. There are some actual russian lyrics in other parts of the OST, but again, I did the best with what I had.

It's not ideal, but I don't think it's overly or unreasonably unrealistic.

Thanks for listening :)

I just wonder if the vocals are necessary in the piece? They aren't terrible, but it would be interesting to see what it is like without them. The music itself is great.

Maybe have a look at Soundirons "Mars" (Russian Male-Choir) and it´s upcomming equivalent "Venus" (Russian Female-Choir). If there is a budget these are a must have to get.
Over at vi-control are some early Venus-Demos: Vi-control.net

The Balalaika is the only real and recorded instrument in this particular piece.

This is pretty good!

I wouldn't be suprised if you were chosen to be the composer for the theme tune of C&C Red Alert 4. :D

You guys could try to use some music from 'The Red Army Choir/ Alexandrov Ensemble'. I don't know if you can use them due to possible copyright infringement however if you can get some songs of them it would fit the game perfectly. They are the national choir of Russia so the music they play is Russian.

Example: Youtube.com

I do really like the music you made though. For non professional modders this is really good. Best mod I've seen on ModDB
