Since we're a bit out of the mood recently to add and create new units to factions we (or some people at least) are now creating some stuff for fun for map making and visual eye candy. One of these things will be new and proper highways like shown here. Custom maps are also going to play a more important role in the later release to deliver a bit new and unusual maps. So for all map makers out there you will have quiet some fun with the next release!
Quick question, will the cars be static, as in they're parked on the highway, or will they moved from one end of the highway to the other before swapping lanes and heading back? If that is in fact possible with the game engine, its been a while since I played Generals.
Also, I see the road needs work.
Nah they are static but there are a few ways to still make it a crowded highway look good and a few cars are also able to be animated but not a whole highway with cars switching lanes etc.
It wouldn't make to much sense having all the cars moving anyway... A gridlock is what I'd expect to see during a war.
make it move just like how the train move, with the help of waypoints or something
i actually manage to make cars move like that, but a whole highway, with alot of cars? that would just torture the mapper xD
just imagine a typical zombie-apocalypse started again and everybody stopped giving a **** about their cars
