Reborn on the RNA engine, the RA2 and YR story will be relived with real time 3d graphics. We of the ConRed team are aiming to recreate the gameplay of Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge on the Red Alert 3 engine, with a new Yuri Campaign. Later on, we will be working on a mod that is an expansion to this one; Condition Red: Rise to Power. The setting of the mod will take place after the events of YR, with Yuri in the psyonic prison. This allows us the create a whole new story continuation, with a lot of new content.
This stationary gun is used to defend against enemy infantry. It is not a very effective weapon against vehicles.
Now it's in 3D we will finaly have the Sentry gun with rotating barrels!
Is there a reason why this has a Gatling-style barrel setup?
A dev decision after a discussion about the in-game voxel; The barrel tips in the voxel are smaller than the rest of the gun barrel and the texture dosn't make them look smooth.
Overall the model looks good, but TBH I'm not a big fan of the Gatling-style barrels for the Sentry Gun; I'd much rather see something based on the cameo icon, which appears to have conventional barrels (albeit with substantial heat shields covering most of the length).

Although to be fair, it's probably not helped by the fact that the entire barrel assembly is (in my opinion) too thick/chunky and needs to be a bit thinner.
Back in the alpha build of Red Alert 2 they were a SHP instead of a voxel and you could actually see that it was a Gatling barrel. I personally think this look is a good compromise between the two.
