Well, well, well. End of the road. Never in a million years I expected the mod would be nearly completed in its first stage in the holy year of 2023.

A time where everyone undoubtedly love each other and get along and work together very well to advance the human race into a future where hunger is no longer an issue and no one has to break their backs working until they're dead. A time where we, as intelligent human beings, solve conflicts with words, reasons, empathy and not weapons. A time of peace where definitely there hasn't been any war or conflict whatsoever since the day of WW2 where Stalin totally killed 69 morbillion people with his giant plushie hammer. Surely, we've grown past the days of barbarism, fascism and become civilised, unlike those barbaric Asiatic hordes. I herd they love dicktators like Meow See-dong or th-, that Marksist-Leneenist guy or something.

Ugh, I mean, all the Nazis are dead already, stupid. Haven't you ever heard of Denazification, duh? We totally didn't deem it ineffective and counterproductive then just outright stopped it. We're the good guys, bruh, I swear! Just don't up Unit 731 and what they did in China and how that war criminal Douglas MacArthur just let them go without any punishment. They were just giving out ICE CREAMS to the CHINESE, I SWEAR! (please don't look at the news or the wiki. plz just don't. plz.)

Oh, and by "everyone"; I meant the "international community," of course.


Sorry about the rant, but anyhow. Right, with the mod nearly completion. This last series of update featuring the Nuclear Missile Silo, Gatling Cannon that ate too many American planes, high definition Speaker Tower and just Bunker. Yes, just Bunker.

What? What were you expecting exactly, hhhmmmmmmmmm?! Thicc juicy sussy amogus unadulterated pair of Boonkers??? (yes, I am completely insane.)

I mean, think about it, what sane person would have possibly continued to mod a dead single game for years into whatever mess of a mod that is including a shit ton of new infantry, vehicles, buildings and everything else that comes that. FOR FREE.

Let's just hope that they don't take me to Aslume soon. That would be a very bad time.

Nuclear missiles, oh yes. The remastered version of the Chinese Nuclear Missile Silo, if you haven't figured out from previous update by now, features a newly modeled high definition THICC and THROBBING atomic warhead.

Not only that, the detonation effects (and many more) have been completed reworked from the ground up. So now, when you detonates a warhead, your PC won't just go out along with it. In case, you've missed it, somehow, checkout this video from years ago:


Also, with the addition of the new shiny roofs, new launching flashing lights FX, better clutter, more vents, more doors, new banner, animated tarps and contemporary poster, the remastered Nuclear Missile Silo is completed and not feels so emptied.

Next up, the Gatling Cannon or more precisely, the Type-730 CIWS Emplacement for you nerds out there. I have always founded the vZH design kinda weird.

I mean, you have this thick and fairly structured base on the bottom then you have this single pillars that holds the guns together somehow along with an exposed and small ammo box. HUH???
I guess it looked... fine. It's balanced for sure but fucking hell does it look so barebone.

Well, the vZH Gattling Cannon is fortunately no more.

After extensive research by, well, the research team (me, duh), I decided to go with the Type-730 CIWS design and just place the whole damn thing on the same foundation with a bit more details.
It might have seemed like a stupid idea at first but what the hell, it turned out great and I liked it and that's all that matters.

Next, just Bunker. Yeah, I wish I had anything more interesting to say about the Bunker but nope, the previous design was perfect for me already. I only had to add the shiny roof and fixed a few things like the sandbags and barb wires. And that's the end of it.

And lastly, the Speaker Tower. Probably my most favourite thing to build in the game.
"But V, what the heck? The tin can tower looks nearly the exact same as vZH version? How could you call this an update???"

Well, you see, silly child; the vZH's railings were completely opaque meaning when you built it in-game, the shadows were also opaque. This was an unacceptable immersion breaking issue back when I was 10 and also now.

Therefore, now those railings are actual railings (and not just an alpha map.) That means the shadows are now casted properly and muh immersion is saved again.

Not only that, like previous ZHE design borrowed from the mythical mod that 99% people has probably forgotten about "Situation Zero" when upgraded with the Subliminal Messaging upgrade, the tower is decorated with red flags because it's cool. The problem being it was too cluttered for my taste. Sometimes simple is just better. It's true.

A railing platform has also been installed so that workers could easily maintain those comedically large speakers with ease so the they continue to spread GAY SPACE COMMUNISM.

PLA Nuclear Missile Silo The same old PLA Nuclear Missile Silo with new high definition main missile and clutter, shiny roofs, more doors, more vents, new banner, animated tarps and contemporary poster.


PLA Type-730 CIWS Emplacement Mostly all new defensive structure armed with a 30mm H/PJ-12 Gatling gun. Effective defense against enemy aircraft, helicopters and small-medium projectiles. Replaced vZH Gatling Cannon.



PLA Bunker The same old PLA Bunker design from previous ZHE version with shiny roofs, better sandbag and barbwire placement.



PLA Speaker Tower The same old PLA Speaker Tower with actual railing model, simple upgrade banners and railing platform.

On final notes:

Now that the final update is out of the way. It's time to introduce a new retroactive update series that will last for another 10 years!

Just kidding, of course. The mod is like 95% more or less completed now, I think.

Although, remember that ugly Battle Master model I made some time ago?

Yeah, that didn't quite age too well along with some other stuff when you compare with my latest stuff.
So with that in mind, I'm determined to fix some of them at least.

Admittedly, it was the slogan I think that I know of that fit the most with "strong army" or something like that based on quick basic researches. Maybe there's more I don't just know about. Would be happy to change if a better one is found!

There are better military-related slogans, but I think this one actually doesn’t need to be changed because it’s so dramatic.
It can also describe nuclear missiles as the power basis of the "Chinese Dream"

Yeah, that whole thing was wild. Since I was taught a lot of different things than what I have been seeing now, I have had my doubts here and there sometimes when reading stuff up but that was probably the last nail in the coffin, at least for me. Never even thought it could get this bad.

Seems like it was no big deal to a lot of the general public. I just don't understand the cognitive dissonance. I thought the Nazis are always bad with no exceptions and they should not be tolerant at all in a civilised society? (Punch Nazis, etc.) Yet nobody in there seems to want to punch the Nazi veteran? Weird. Maybe I miss a video where he's getting **** beaten out of him but I highly doubt it.

Yeah, I can't go back to vZH design. It just looks weird to me now lol.

Hope you're just ironically joking and do know, that who would try to beat a nazi veteran, if Canada has dozens of thousands of them happily living there. Yet whole government of "newly created" German Democratic Republic after WW2 consisted solely of nazis.(not even saying about millions of nazistic soldiers, who were surrendering to the west, knowing that they will have no punishment in return)

All these reworks of yours(especially the turret one) suddenly made me remember about tiny detail that was bugging me for a long time - when RedGuard is switched to bayonet, the model doesn't change. Not only this doesn't allow to know when weapon is switched(only buttons depict the stance). yet imagine how cool it would look - an army of RegGuards actually not walking as always but running with bayonets properly pointed forward and ready to sting!

Yeah, that bothered me too. Fortunately, I already modeled and animated the Red Guards charging with bayonet (0:50): Moddb.com

And yes, they also change their stances in charging mode :)

Damn, i must say i know no other mod to have so much variety of animations!(especially with all the additional things like binoculars, rocket launchers swap, all the teams work)
Curiosity question: you said below that video "All base infantry share the same set of animation for each class." - but doesn't every model need special/proper bones for animations to work? Or did you unify all the models too?
Mainly i'm asking 'cause i tried several times to make small modifications to popular mods, like say add some soldier an ability to throw grenade, and couldn't due to model was not able to use animation from other infantry that could throw grenades. And in short the explanation hints were "you can't just snap animation from one unit to another, model must be modified".

So ZHE infantry class (regular, AT, medic, etc.) shares the same skeleton across all factions. This, of course, it's not super ideal since they can look a bit weird sometimes (up close) because of different weapon mesh but it saves a lot of time because they would also share the same set of W3D codes and no tweaking required. Actually, I suppose I could tweak it but yeah, no, I'm too lazy for that lol. Fundamentally speaking though, every new ZHE infantry shares the same main skeleton structure and the differences being the weapon bones.

Usually you can port animations from one infantry to another given that their main skeleton has the same structure. iirc some vZH skeletons do share the same skeleton but under different names so one would need to match the correct bones to merge the animation. An easier way might be just to rename the skeleton in the new animation you want to match the infantry's bound skeleton you wanna use.
