Fully Playable CATW08 Beta. See instructions for installation and shortcuts.
CATW 08 has been tested with STEAM (no disc version)
Like all previous modfoldered catw mod it's pretty simple:
1-First things first: Make sure your vanilla Rome TW Alexander folder (RTW 1.9) is clean. Compatible with other mods: You can even run several catw in the same folder.
2-Unzip (with 7z) catw08.7z in your main folder (or with winrar/zip)
3-Pick up your Alex shortcut and drop it on your desktop or whatever you want to run it from.
That's it. No joke.
If steam is activated and the little bugger refuses to launch, verify that you can run it as the admin. By default all rules applyng to RTW mods running on the latest versions of Steam and Windows are valid. Check the forums for more.
Also, by default the shortcuts are:
Target:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rome Total War Alexander\RomeTW-ALX.exe" -nm -show_err -mod:catw08 -noalexander (For custom battles)
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rome Total War Alexander\RomeTW-ALX.exe" -nm -show_err -mod:catw08 (campaign)
Starting in:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rome Total War Alexander"
To modify them, right-click the shortcut and check the "properties" tab.
There is also an alternative "steam-friendly" launch. Go to your RTW steam shortcut (in "games"), right-click, in the menu hit property.
Then in "set launch options", fill: -nm -show_err -mod:catw08 -movie_cam

The game is still in early beta, meaning not only the units rosters are not complete yet, but the game is not balanced at all at this point. The final version should include 4tpy, naval battles and new buildings as well.
