BAR overview

News 1 comment

So today, a quick weapons update.

We'll be looking at our new Browning Automatic Rifle model; ported from the Back2Fronts mod with permission from Mch2207cZ.

As you can see, the model is more accurate to the WW1 timeframe the mod is set in. Below you can also see the comparison between the vanilla and the modded firing rates. The original M1918 BAR fired at around 500 rounds per minute compared to the WW2 era M1918A2 BAR which could be fired at around 650 RPM.

Given that it's an American made weapon, it stands to reason that the BAR will naturally be used only in 1918 maps which feature the American Expeditionary Force.

It would be interesting to include the battle of port arthur as the starting of the mod more than the assasination. The normandy invasion map and defending of the hill could be reused for it. It was called world war zero after all.

The Battle of Port Arthur might be more fitting for the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-1905.

First of all,the battle of Port Arthur was during the Russo-Japanesse war.
Second of all, world war zero is a nickname given to The Seven Years War which was from 1754-1763 which doesn t quite fit a WW1 mod.

Is there anyway you could release the weapons and skins as just a plan replace for the vanilla campaign? I would love to just fiddle with the guns you have created. Weapons are my favorite part in setting changing mods

Not yet. Our mappers either have other commitments or preoccupied with life.
