Tomorrow evening. You have to leave the country in the next 24 hours... some important business. Suddenly you realize you have forgotten crucial files and your passport at work. Since you really need all this, you will have to drive there, hoping that there is still someone to let you enter... if not this will be an illegal entrance. This will take two minutes and then you'll be back home for dinner.

If you tend to have crashes between two levels:

1 - Don't touch keyboard or mouse during loadings

Self-explanatory!

2 - Clean installation

Be sure that no other mods, custom stories or addons are installed as well!
Otherwise you might have some in-game errors with certain props that have been corrected for Forbidden Trip but are still outdated for older mods.
If you are unsure that your game installation is clean, please uninstall it, remove any left files, then reinstall it.
This is really important to follow this step!

3 - Playing with older computers (and/or 32 bit systems)

Even if FT was polished & optimized a lot since its first Early Access in Dec. 2019, you might get a crash when some (large) levels are loading with older computers; especially if you use a 32 bit system instead of a 64.
To reduce the risk, do this quick manipulation (Windows):

  1. Close the game.
  2. Go into…
    • Windows: C:\Users\[YOUR_NAME]\Documents\Amnesia\Forbidden_Trip
    • Linux: ~/.frictionalgames/Amnesia/Forbidden_Trip/
    • macOs: ~/Library/Application Support/Frictional Games/Amnesia/Forbidden_Trip/
  3. Open "main_settings.cfg" with a notepad (right click on it > Open with > Notepad).
  4. Search for "ForceCacheLoadingAndSkipSaving="false".
  5. Change "false" to "true", save the file, quit the notepad.
  6. Restart the game.

Note: it should already be set on true.

Thanks,
