32 custom maps using vanilla assets. Lots of monsters and unique encounters. Includes a wide variety of areas, including: underground bases, hellish landscapes, toxic military strongholds, caves, and castles. Project is not complete, 1/3 of maps are mostly outlines, but everything is playable. The vibe is mostly vanilla, but I use a lot of Boom tags so you'll need something compatible. I run everything through GZDoom with no issue.
Monster dense and some challenging fights, but nothing too extreme. Music and names are largely placeholders. Can be played through continuous or pistol start. Unfinished levels have exits easily available to not ruin the flow. I pull some textures from Doom 1 and a number of new skies come from "Box o Skies". I plan to incorporate difficulty settings and co-op play, but finishing all the levels is the main priority.
Mostly just needed a new demo to share, as the first upload of this WAD was embarrassingly early on. Now that I'm much further in I have a better handle on level design. My biggest weakness is lighting, and I need to go back and fix lighting in some of the early levels. No major custom textures, though I do wish I had looked further into new ones. At this point in the project they would just seem out of place. My level layouts have gotten a lot better while making this mod. I have gone back and improved my early designs, but some still need a little work to be up to standard.
Playtesters and feedback are great! Having other people play these levels will be a huge help for balancing and gameplay flow. If you stream this WAD please let me know. Seeing live reactions would be extremely helpful for future improvements.
