Blood Ritual mod for Unreal Tournament 2004

Blood Ritual is an Unreal 2004 MOD Developed at the Guildhall at SMU in 2 1/2 months.

Blood Ritual focuses on the ancient ceremonial conflict between two
alien races, the Naguaar and the Skerji. They battle throughout the
galaxy with the objective of capturing enemy heads and returning them
to their race's totem as trophies of their victory.

“It had finally come to an end. The acrid smell of charred flesh permeated the air and smoke burned my eyes as I surveyed the grisly scene from within my makeshift prison. While pinned beneath the rubble of what used to be a museum of science and history, I could do nothing but watch as the terrible battle unfolded before me. I was suddenly struck by the ultimate irony of the situation. Being an anthropologist and xenologist, I had dedicated most of my life to the study of these two extraterrestrial races. This is what I had always dreamed of; to witness the ancient Blood Ritual in person. Yet now, while cowering beneath the oppressive wreckage, I found myself wondering if there was a way I could ever make myself forget.

The victorious Naguaar were now boarding their vessel; a misshapen thing hunkered down in the middle of the street like a dormant nightmare. The “battlefield” was littered with several hundred alien corpses, but not one, I knew, would still have its head intact. I watched as a rather large Naguaar male retrieved the pike from where it had been placed before battle. I forced myself to look and found that it was now laden with what must have been several-hundred pounds of Skerji heads. They had been skewered all along its shaft up to the very tip with additional heads dangling from beaded cords. The grizzled head-bearer hoisted the morbid trophy with startling ease and prepared to board the alien craft. Judging from the plethora of tattoos and piercing, I came to the conclusion that he must have been a Naguaarian Shaman.

Just as he was about to board the vessel, the shaman halted abruptly and began surveying the surrounding ruin as if searching for something. The blood froze in my veins as his gaze came to rest on my hiding place. Fear, terror... these words do not even begin to describe what I felt as he approached me...”
