I have just discovered this project! As far as I see, there will be two versions - one for the SA, and another as a submod for TATW DaC.

My suggestion - could you also edit the latter's map - not to add the forever lost Andor, but... to add the Isle of Meneltarma above the waves? This has always been my dream, ever since I saw it on the map of Dagor Dagorath (a Russian project in eternal development since 2011). You could also put a shrine (some unique resource) on it or something.

And I have to ask this - are you going to bring back the settlement on Tol Fuin? Even for the Third Age? I'm not sure about the theme of the submod, but naval navigation has to be a prominent part, right?

Along with Lórien's navy? Maybe? And the elongation of the Anduin's navigable part past Rauros?

Yes - two versions of this project - one for second age and one as patch for DAC.

Now regarding the questions...

Andor - ar-adunaim faction will start on an island in the south (not the actual andor though as it will take the mojo from the second age mod)

Tol Fuin - DAC already reached the maximum number of settlements hence in order to add it, an existing region will have to be deleted. For second age mod I will probably add it as islands play a crucial role in expansions

As for the navy i am thinking on implementing the kingdoms mechanics regarding americas - in short only certain types of ships will be able to travel between numenor, valinor and middle earth

When I look on this map, I think Belegaer is very small, than was original. For me, Shadow of Ungoliant should be in south of Valinor, not in south of Middle Earth. However in Second Age, Ungoliant is dead. Only Shelob and Great Spiders from Mirkwood survived Fall of Beleriand after War of Wrath.
Angband should be north from Beleriand, not Rhovanion. Principality of Belfalas shoud be west from this region. There we have Principality of Lebennin with Pelargir.

Generally, unfortunately, for me this map has many mistakes to build on it campaign map for Second Age :/

the factions are setup based on gameplay and less on the lore.

however each has a reasons:
- ungoliant: he went to the dark lands so he could have passed through the far-harad
- angband: fugitives from angband fled in all directions including the (north) east
- belfalas: i couldn't find a better name for the numenorean colonies in pelennor

About Ungoliant:
After Valars release Morgoth from prison in Aman, he went to look for a strong ally to defeat Valars and destroy their Realm. On south he met Huge Spider Ungoliant. After long negotiations they create alliance and go to north to destroy Great Trees of Valinor. Next went to Noldors capital, killed High King Finwe, father of Feanor and stole many treasures, including Silmarils. After that Morgoth with Ungoliant fled to Beleriand. During the travel Ungoliant wants more of shiny treasures which Morgoth held. When she wanted devour Silmarils, Morgoth refused and struggled. Fallen Valar would lose if they did not appear Balrogs. They expelled Ungoliant to Ered Gorgoroth in north Beleriand, when she lived.
The further fate of the Ungolant's is unknown. According to legends, she devoured the light and the back all the time, and finally ate in her insatiable hunger she devoured herself.

Theodron note that 'Valar' is a plural term; the singular form is 'Vala'. Thus 'Valars' is not the plural of 'Valar' for it is plural itself.

Where can I find a blank version of this map? I've never seen this one with Valinor on it.

Numenor appears to be very tiny in comparison to say; Mordor, Gondor, or Rohan. Is that going to be the case for the actual mod as well?
