This mod also works with Company of Heroes and/or Tales of Valor. Opposing Fronts is not required! There are many features that I added, for example: - a much more realistic Weapon damage system - many new skins for infantry and tanks (and wrecks) also including many of my own made tank skins - many new units for all factions - modified and enlarged Commander Trees (now 16 Upgrades!) - new abilities - new sounds - recommended new maps included

The more appropriate one would be "Hell on wheels and tracks". XD

I found a few things:

En.wikipedia.org

Wizards.com

And this article about the 251 on wiki ( En.wikipedia.org ) said
"Variants were produced for specialized purposes, including with anti-aircraft guns, light howitzers, anti-tank guns and mortars or even large unguided artillery rockets, as well as a version with an infrared search light used to spot potential targets for associated Panther tanks equipped with infrared detectors."

which makes the 251 one of the first vehicles to ever use infrared tech to defeat enemies!!!! Gotta love them Germans. Hell, they're the only ones I play as on COH period cause of the units they have (Don't screw with me when I have my Nebelwerfer squads out. You'll end up hating my guts XD)

If anyone wants some other sources about the infrared thing just PM me and I'll send you some (really, WTF is everyones beef with wiki?!!).

German Infrared Tech in WW2 is developed in early war phase by Luftwaffe as a Nightfighterequipment the so called Spanneranlage , but it was inferior to the newest Radar ( called Funkmessanlage in Luftw. Jargon) later in War the Army (WH) pickt up the idea and developed it further for own use. The UHU halftrack w. IR is only used because the IR Panthers own IR search lights were not Powerful enough and had only short Range because of smaller Diameter .Panther with IR had for Commander and driver IR lights and sights. IR lights were also used on StG44 ( Vampir)

What source did you use? Sounds really interesting (don't know much about NV in WWII, though I did know about the Vampir) and I don't know any good sources (except wiki, but I don't want to learn how to build the damn thing at the same time XD).

But really, the Germans were ages ahead of the Allies. I love their tech. Yes some of them weren't effective, but they were new and innovative ideas that's in use to this very day (MG3 anyone?). Hell, even the way they structured their military was new, innovative and advanced, but the Russians had them beat on the Theater level.

Cause you know, german tanks are like sports car, look, feel, and used like a real kickass machine, especially the assault guns!!!

The United States used Infrared Tech as well, specifically M1 Carbine's with Infrared Scopes, which were used effectively during WWII specifically at Okinawa.

It has a crazy range and camo. Use it to attack HTs frontally or attack tanks from the side and then run. Use it like as a mobile At gun not a Tank Destroyer.

Can this me a reward unit not a replacement? I like playing the Arty with mobile AT to cover my Priests and even in it's discription it says it isn't a good AT weapon so I lose what would be a nice bit of protection/cover to an auto-fire pack howitzer.

The US Army designation was "75mm Gun Motor Carriage M3 / M3A1" and the British called theirs "75mm, SP, Autocar". The difference between the basic vehicle and A1 was that the US ran out of existing field mounts to convert, so the A1 used a purpose built mount. They formed the principal armament of US tank destroyer battalions prior to the M10 and were used in North Africa and Sicily. Survivors were turned over the British and, along with Lend-Lease vehicles, used as SP artillery in the Heavy Troops of Armored Car regiments in Italy and, to a lesser extent, Northwest Europe through the end of the war. Surprisingly, the USMC employed them in their divisional Special Weapons Companies through the end of the war, primarily in the assault gun role (bunker busters) and called them the "Self Propelled Mount" or "SPM". All in all, for an a quick kludge to produce a temporary solution, they ended up serving better than could have been anticipated. BTW, Gen McNair, head of Army Ground Forces insisted they should NOT be used as SP artillery or for infantry support - fortunately neither the British or Marines were under his command. It also illustrates how the troops will find a way to make something useful in roles not anticipated by the brass.

Description

This is a new british Halftrack carrying a 75mm gun. This unit will have auto direct fire against ground targets and will be able to fire a medium range HE barrage. Credits for the model goes to Eliw00d & DMz, basic skin was made by GnigruG and I made some adaptions to fit on this model.
