Hi there, and welcome to my project to "uncut" Black Mesa! Black Mesa was a crowning achievement for modding for sure, but it felt like it was lacking a little in some areas, particularly Surface Tension. For those of you that were not aware, Black Mesa's version of Surface Tension cut out a map from the original which was integral to the story's progression. Its replacement felt rushed and poorly implemented. My mod attempts to add that little something back into the game. I took the liberty of re-adding the cut chapters from Surface Tension as I feel their omission strongly harmed the story and really damaged the tone of Forget About Freeman. I've given them the same treatment Black Mesa gave everything else. This mod currently adds 40 - 50 minutes of gameplay and story to Surface Tension, improving the Black Mesa experience and it's overall narrative. It integrates seamlessly with the Black Mesa campaign too, just like it should. Why not give it a whirl?
This is the ZIP version of the new and improved Surface Tension Uncut 2.0! This version sees significant improvement from the previous release (v1.11) with lots of bugs, gameplay, and design flaws being fixed, and a lot of detail being added to areas which really needed it. Did you feel that Surface Tension in Black Mesa was lacking? Did you dislike the fact that there were fairly hefty cuts to arguably the climax of the entire game? Look no further, Surface Tension Uncut adds 40 - 55 minutes of gameplay to Surface Tension, linking seamlessly with Black Mesa's main campaign, and providing lots of exploration and epic scripted battles, as well as fixing the extremely broken Gargantua scene from Black Mesa's original map. To install, make sure to back up your existing BMS folder, and then simply extract this zip to the Sourcemods/BMS folder, overwriting all existing files.
Thank You
this have any new models in it? ie cut enemies? cut attacks? cut m4?
No.
This is very weird. I've played this addition before, I know. Last week I reinstalled Black Mesa, then added then both your On A Rail and this one. (I just left some very enthusiastic comments re OAR on that page.) I used the installer version of ST, but (it's been quite a while since I played it before) looking at the screenshots I realize that I didn't see those at all! Yes, I KNOW I played them before, I specifically remember parking garage bit and that elevated helipad bits. I don't know if the installer put them in a different directory or what, but I'm now downloading the zip file and will use that. I'm actually playing through a 2nd time already and am just a little beyond OAR now. Hopefully I'll see your excellent work again this time!
God!There's so many talented modders in the pc gaming community.
Lucky for us gamers:)
hence the reason I play PC games now instead of console games

i've got no ******* clue on what im doing to install this. can someone help me on this?
So just to make sure, this is for the 'free' 2012 version of Black Mesa,
true ? I don't want to just copy it into my copy of the beta-less
version of Black Mesa, which will definitely mess it up.
I do remember playing v1.1 not too long after it came out, so
I'm looking forward to seeing what you did for v2.0.
Thanks !!
