The BattleGroup42 team aim to promote team-play in a historically accurate and fun environment set across the battlefields of World War 2. With each successive release BG42 is developing its own style of unique gameplay. Scout forward positions and call in covering fire as a troop of friendly tanks roll forward backed by APC support, fly air cover protecting your bombers from marauding interceptors, assault an enemy beachhead taking the forward positions before moving inland to victory!

We know that our fans can never get enough
new content in BG42, therefore today we are showing you what has
happened in the hand weapons and other similar areas. Here RuppDee and
Dauntless have delivered a lot of new content. Let's start with RuppDee:
The man from Down Under has provided us with two completely new 50cal
Browning MGs - one in a dual mounting and one in a single mounting. The
dual mount can be found only on the American Elco boats at the moment,
the single 50cal currently functions as the waist gun for the B-17
bomber. We're sure that we'll find more possibilities to use those
beautifully designed and skinned guns. RuppDee also re-worked our M1
Garand, SMLE rifles, the Breda modello 30 and the Maxson M45 Quadmount
on the M16 MGMC.

Our small armies benefited from Dauntless'
magic: He delivered a 6.5mm Steyr-Mannlicher M.95 rifle for our Dutch
troops which had to use the Hungarian Mannlicher 35M rifle before. He
also created a FÉG 37M pistol, a 42M hand grenade and a new spade for
the Hungarian sappers.

From the pool of the abandoned TLO mod
content we were able to retrieve some more improvements for our hand
weapons: a new FG42 rifle and a new Gewehr 43. Kraetzer from BGF mod
created a beautiful winter version of the Mosin Nagant sniper rifle.
Also from BGF came a Panzerfaust 30 and soldier equipment for the German
and Russian soldiers.

Another useful addition to our hand weapon
section comes from our new team member Senshi: He re-worked some weapon
animations and has improved them. This goes for the Hungarian Danuvia
39M and Danuvia 43M SMGs, the American M3 Grease gun and the German MG34
and MG42 (hand held versions).

This concludes our news for
today and as usual we'd like to inform you about our regular battle days
on Wednesdays and Sundays starting at 8.00 pm (GMT+1) on the MOB
server. We're always on the lookout for committed team members who will
support us in all areas and especially modelling and texturing. We'll be
back soon with another news, version 1.7 has gone into beta status and
testing phase.
