The Battlefield 2 total conversion historical realism modification "Battlefield: Korea" deals with the Korean War (1950 - 1953), which is also known as the "Forgotten War".
The 100 mm field gun M1944 (BS-3) (Russian: 100-мм полевая пушка обр. 1944 г. (БС-3)) was a Soviet 100 mm anti-tank and field gun. The gun was successfully employed in the late stages of World War II, and remained in service into the 1950s, being replaced in Soviet service by the T-12 antitank gun and the 85 mm antitank gun D-48 in 1955. The BS-3 was also sold to a number of other countries and in some of these countries the gun is still in service.
This weapon was in active service during the Korean War and used by both the North Koreans and Chinese.
Thanks to the IDF:FFI mod for donating this weapon to us!
Here you can see the suppression effect that happens when standing next to the weapon while it is being fired.
Simply Amazing! what other combat features will be implemented?
Well, effect-wise we have full suppression as seen above, but we have blood effects so you visibly see blood when you shoot people. You also can bleed out and have to use field bandages to heal yourself like in PR and FH2.
We also want to have multiple tank rounds you can choose from. AP, HE and Smoke.
We will have a few more surprises to show off as well. So stay tuned.
Nice! I also really prefer the bleed out feature as seen in PR and FH2 over the vanilla HP feature
Yeah, we are leaning more towards realism with this mod than something found in like COD:WAW or even regular BF2. We do have similarities with PR, but the mod has always had weapon aim down sights zoom since before I ever joined, so I like to keep that feature in the mod. I mean, it is still a game after all.
I love Project Reality a lot too, but both mods aim for different things. We have huge recoil and weapon ballistic damage, so we will keep it engaging and fun while still being super realistic.
Other things realistic with our mod is the aircraft handling. When you dogfight with our planes, you must constantly analyze where the weight of the aircraft, and the gravity will pull you when making turns and loops. Dogfighting is very close to how it feels in FH2, but with jets.
Says alot about you and your team: Dedication and love for the project. Hope this'll release by Christmast! Good luck!
