I hope you are all enjoying 1.2. The majority of you appear to be and that is good to know. A few small things I need to address however. Some Linux server admins are complaining that bg_i386.so is using RedHat 9's libstdc. To fix this I have compiled on another computer and the fixed bg_i386.so can be found here. Place this .so in the dlls directory of your BG install.

Some users have been complaining blue all around the trees and on some models. This is because we use the model transparency that came with DoD 1.0 To fix this problem the transparency dlls that came with DoD 1.0 can be found here. Just extract these into your Half-Life directory. After the next Half-Life patch this step won't be necessary as HL 1.1.1.1 should come with the transparency support.

The final file I have for you is a custom compile of metamod-1.16 to provide BG 1.2 support. I have sent an email to the creator of metamod with the entities that need to be added to provide BG 1.2 support in the next metamod patch. Until then this custom build should do the trick. The metamod binary can be found here and the source can be found here.

One final thing I must mention - The infamous freedom battle cry. Some of you hate it, others of you find it amusing. Either way, the actual sound being included in 1.2 is not our fault. This sound was the winner of the Shout for Freedom competition. You the public voted this as the Freedom sound for 1.2 and that is why it included. Remember that before complaining about it.
