I was wondering if in a similar way to the vent smoke on the plutonium-driven delorean could partical effescts be made around the delorean for say, 10 seconds after time travel;
I plan to work an tweaking this sort of thing on my own, but before i begin, i want to know if theoretically speaking, could it be done?

Possible, but won't be too graphically pleasing. I think smoke tends to rise in vc, or if it does fall, it doesn't go around the edges and fall, but just goes down through the body. It's impossible to get a lot of particles to look right and will look more like globs of icecream stuck on the delorean. I'll get a test up right now.

scratch that, new vid coming up. Never realized they still had old particles from gta3 not used anymore. Now I can have falling smoke particles just for the delorean, and not have it affect other stuff (like engine smoke)

Just gotta fix up the particles when the delorean is in motion (looks a bit too fake), make the bttf2 and higher models have less of an icey smoke, and looks like this is a new 0.2d feature as well. Vid later.

How long should the effects go for? It starts immediately upon reentry.

Right now, it's set at 20 seconds. But that was more for testing reasons. As before, post the list each time and add one to your favorite. If you cheat and add more, or take some away from another, you will be looked down upon and laughed at for acting like a Tanner.

Add another affect not possible by sa, as smoke always rises up in that game and can't be changed, so the car will look like it's smoking, much like the first vid. Why did rockstar have to get rid of the particle.cfg file......

LOL, actually I say that alot. While some stuff remains impossible (seeing yourself in the past), there were quite a couple of things that became unimpossible. The stationary wormhole is one. Sparks is another. Glowing coils (well, blue painted more like). Just to name a few

well, texture switching's still impossible. Well, it is, but it involves more jumping like flying-driving stuff.

Oh yeah, Kinda need this to only happen when the delorean is really slow, otherwise at high speed, it will look like it's really smoking. I could have it move, but it's based on which direction the delorean's heading, so if the delorean drifts, the smoke will go forwards in the direction the delorean is facing, so not good. Thats why it is only at low speeds.

can u make the steam fall slower, idk it just looks a bit wierd to me :P

10 seconds is a bit too slow. Venting occurs a few seconds after that. And sure, i'll slow it down. Just so you know, the ice procedure occurs the instant you come back, so before the widescreen goes away. So thats a little over 5 seconds there.

Just noticed that steam just cuts off weirdly, is it possible to make it reduce, lets say from 20 to 30 seconds, so it would look like ice melts.

Yeah. Another thing, maybe the bttf I delorean could malfunction after the reentry? Like going slower and slower... Then getting back to normal, that solves the problem with particle not keeping up after the car.

Aah, but chevron, that was to do with different textures, but I figured that they could use a similar code to the steam, becausethat just uses partical effects...
