Is it possible to make horses ride away by themselves? Like KITT?

Apr 11 2007 Anchor

not random horses

Ok, i found out you can use rc on foot, so no need for a body double for tommy (or marty). However, the problem is that controls will be different. Left and Right are still the same, but sprint is now gas and jump is now brake (not handbrake) So, should I stick with a body double or no body double?

Apr 15 2007 Anchor

won't tommy move while you're steering though?

Apr 15 2007 Anchor

no for the same reason the top fun van won't move when you're steering. Also on that note, would anyone like you to immediately gain control of tommy when the delorean dissapears? and then when it comes back, you have to press the rc button again.

Yeah I like the idea of regaining control of Tommy after the DeLorean disappears. So does the "Top Fun" become the remote DeLorean?

Apr 15 2007 Anchor

nonono, i'm asking if you want it so tommy stays there and controls the delorean ON FOOT, but controls will be sprint= gas and jump=brake.

ic. i like that idea. that would be good

Apr 16 2007 Anchor

Yeah I like the idea of Tommy controlling the DeLorean on foot. I have an idea for making Griff's BMW and other 2015 cars "fly"...would it be possible to use the code that you use for hover mode in the DeLorean and train? Since you can still technically fly when hovering.

Apr 16 2007 Anchor

yes i can do that. It just won't bank or pitch. Plus it'll have all the hovering bugs.

Apr 16 2007 Anchor

so when all the cars fly will thay go 45mph or will you change it?

Apr 16 2007 Anchor

stupid question.

Apr 16 2007 Anchor

I don't mind if it won't bank or pitch, you could say there's built in safety mechansims to prevent accidents on the skyway, and Doc was able to make modifications to the DeLorean and train which enables them to

Apr 18 2007 Anchor

i think goldie was the one who made modifications

Anyway, some updates on coding. RC isn't back yet, but the delorean can now time travel without anyone in the car. Sure, a carjacker can take it, but the delorean can tell if he's a hijacker and dump him in the n-dimensional space where he dies from sensory information overload. The car comes back, depending on what were programmed in the time circuits, which may mean a long wait or means you need to get a new one. But hey, the carjacker's dead.

It's one of those things I can't do anything about unless you want to move Tommy before the time vehicle comes back, so no loss there. Just some stupid carjacker's life. And before you say Biff stole the time machine and how would that be possible in the game, remember that we never saw him time travel.

Anyway, the code looks steady enough, so I'm going to go into the rc area now. All grounded deloreans will be capable of rc. Not sure about hovering yet, need to check the controls for pitch first when on foot.

Apr 18 2007 Anchor

some more info about rc controls if using rc on foot instead of the topvan.
Left and Right are the same
Down is pitch up (flying d)
Up is pitch down
Gas is sprint
Brake is jump
Handbrake is enter

Apr 18 2007 Anchor

scratch that idea. The player still moves around if using rc on foot, which is not what I really had in mind. Back to actor again.

Apr 18 2007 Anchor

RC mode is back for all deloreans. Very similar to the old one in looks, but new in organization and design. I only have one camera view right now, and i'm contemplating adding another one. Any suggestions?

Apr 18 2007 Anchor

Well, screw that. I got the new camera view in anyway and it works better than the first version.

Now, I need to edit the fuel mode. As of now, you have to go into the car first before you can refuel it. Gonna change that now.

Also to note. 0.2b will be released earlier now. I had no clue rc would be this easy this time around. All because of giving control back to the player once the time vehicle traveled through time. Have to wait for Griff's BMW first.

That's great news man! Will the hover mode be included with the BMW?

Apr 18 2007 Anchor

answer's in front of you.

Apr 18 2007 Anchor

coding's basically done. BMW included. Just gotta wait for the car to be done and do some bug testing.

Apr 19 2007 Anchor

BMW's almost done, should be this weekend some time. I want to mess with the handling a bit more and see if I can fix a mysterious dummy problem. You'll see it in a vid i'll link to once it uploads.

Apr 19 2007 Anchor

i need to edit the hovering for the bmw. Forgot that it uses the horn and handbrake.
