hey
can someone tell me where in particle txd or particle cfg to change sparks (length and colour), (i dont care if scraping cars etc is now blue), and which texture in particle.txd is the wormhole, i just want to change the picture. and maybe also how to do it, (i.e how to chnge colour to blue and size of sparks)

I'm not sure about the sparks, but I do know that in Particle.txd smoke1 is the smoke coming from the vents on the bttf 1 delorean and the wormhole/portal thing.

yeh i know but which one? there are four. and also what number (0-255) is blue?

pick and choose. Use paint to find blue. If you don't know what rgb is, you have a problem.

and like i sed in idea and feature requests, I changed all of the sparks particles and none of them affected the time travel ones, only scraping etc.

Well, I got it to change color, and as expected, the other sparks changed color too, so chainsaw and collisions now have blue sparks

However, If I change kitt's laser to blue...what else becomes blue sparks

And now I remember why I never used it. Those sparks were never that long enough to be even considered sparks.
BTW, there's only two spark lines. The first one you see is from gta3 and commented out, and were the old values for spark. The next two are in the game. Same lines, but the first one is shorter then the second. Third one isn't even a spark, but some water thing. If you still want blue sparks, replace this line. Just beware, it'll look like this

And if you are curious if I used the other sparks, which is also used by KITT, this is what I get (note, sizes are controlled through main.scm).

Looks good here, but thats only because it's blown up, and I have like a trail of them. With the delorean however....

You can barely even see them. I had to circle them so you can see what they look like

Now, you could say I can trail them like kitt's, but I'm sure most have you have seen KITT's laser isn't exactly straight, and also that the random sparks thing kinda makes it impossible.

So blue sparks is definitely one feature that won't make it in any future release.

oh ok cheers delorean, especially for putting in the extra effort. i can accept all other sparks blue, and this is my set up atm:

Well, if thats the case, I guess you could make them bigger, then at least they'd be more noticable, even if chainsaw and crash sparks are blue...

Hold on, would it be possible to script a different colour for the sparks on time travel, like the blue explosion...?
Cuz stuff like car explosions and rocket explosions are just like the ones in particle.txd... much unlike temporal displacement explosions...

nope. The blue explosion was controlled through particle.cfg. I was just lucky enough that there were a couple explosions and that one wasn't used by anything in the game that I could see. There were 4 of them. I chose medium fast.

yep, coding's the only way to make them bigger. However, it won't make them longer. Just fat. Actually, I wonder.....has anyone tried using the fire truck yet?

Speaking of which, dan, why'd you change the size of small_spark? That size is good enough for the delorean. The one you need worrying about is sparks, the first one (ex, right before small_sparks) as taht is the one i was showing as too small.

oh ok, i was just trying to find the right spark to make fat and blue, so i tried them all. And yes, when u told me about water cannon, i looked in fire engine, and the water gun seems normal...
is there anyway you could give me the line or script to make them a fatness of 0.1? or just a way to script it so i could chnage the fatness if i wanted, cos i like the way the wider sparks look now with crashing etc.
