The Sound Mod replaces all War Thunder Ground Vehicles sounds that are perhaps lacking with something more Immersive

Post news Report RSS New German Royal Tiger Engine Sound

New German Panzerkampfwagen Tiger Ausf.B Engine Sound.

Posted by on

Previously the engine sounds that all Tiger models used, were sourced from Tiger 131 at Bovington. But as most models in the game are based of the Tiger 2 chassis I thought it would be a better choice for a swap. Also I feel the Royal Tiger has abit more character.

Panzer VI Tiger II Muse des Bl

So these sounds were taken from the Royal Tiger based at Saumer. It seems to get alot more personal outings and with alot less attraction which means there is better coverage of it in more enclosed environments without people shouting and such ruining the sound.

As I said, I think the Tiger 2 is abit more vocal maybe because of its exhausts and different transmission idk. The previous sound of the Tiger 1 I had was alot more of a droning growl, and didn't feel like it had any detail in it. So by that account a change was necessary.

Released with Gaijins next patch

This sound is simply amazing!! but if I've understood you mean to use this sound for the tiger I too.

Please don't do that, the old sound for tiger I engine was also very similar to its real historical counterpart and I personally liked it very much.

So please again, leave the two sounds different, moreover they were different engines

Yep I agree. Both sounds are simply amazing but the Tiger I sound is very close to the real one.

As far as I know due to game coding limitations, would be impossible to use different sounds for each tank, because both use the same sound files, am I wrong?

Thats why I asked for a software to edit the files on my own way, because I'd like to mix sounds from previous versions with later versions.

Maybe you can make 2 versions on the next release? One with current Tiger I sounds and another with new Tiger II, so we will replace the file we want before opening the game.

Cheers.

I have a doubt about that, for instance we have only one sound for all 75 mm german guns in the original game, so I suppose there's only one file for them but Boris menaged to differentiate the 75mm of panthers and panzer IV.
Couldn't he do the same with engines?

Now this is where Gaijin get lazy and fickle. You are right i can differentiate between a the 75mm but, only because Gaijin have programmed the events for me to do so. I cant create new events/triggers only modify existing ones. Yes this will replace the Tiger 1's engine sounds as it shares the same event/trigger as the Tiger 2, So it comes down to the fact that i can source better audio for the tiger 2 and it is a more used chassis, than just the 2 tiger 1 models.

Plus i still think the audio i had for the Tiger 1 lacked detail.

If i start doing 2 version of the same sound event i will end up having to do loads for the brits sharing the panther engine.

techincaly the wine (of the supercharger?) comes form the existing Tiger 1 and so does the high rev rumble @0:40, as i could not find them taking the Saumer KT out at speed

Yeah I wonder why Gaijin don't make an event for each tank engine, and why a tank sounds different when you drive it than when another player drives it. Its the same tank, it must sound exactly the same, but no, they make standard external sounds for med/heavies/lights..etc. Only the gun really matches with its actual sound.
