Works with update 1.65 Basically includes everything I have done so far.
Instructions:
Unpack Zip file and copy and paste all the files into the "sound" folder in your warthunder Directory
WarThunder/sound/ <---here
Run the aces.exe inside either the win32 or win64 folders(respectively), and click no when it ask if you want to run the launcher
Unfortunately every time you run the Launcher it will replace the file with the vanilla sounds, so every time there is a major patch the file has to be pasted back into the sound folder. TBH i don't bother with minipatch's unless the game forces me to download, in which case you will need to paste the files back.
1.63 is this a typo?
typo, my bad, going mad trying to get it working
Thanks! Can you make a national voices on tank crew?
Gaijin actually made it already
but without dialogs translateion.
What do you mean?
With the last patch you hear russian crew vocies while driving russian tanks, and same with germany.
You have to choose russian on launcher, let download files, change to german, let download files, then switch back to your preferred language and activate native voices in options->sound
Team messages are not affected by this if you mean that.
Thank you!
YEEEAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:DDDDD
Thank you so much man!!!
All the best to you!
Oh come on, why you changed panther sound? It was the best in the mod, simply perfect, please bring it back :(
That I have to agree...
New t34 sounds are great as well as new tweaks for all guns. nice work!
However, some internal sounds are still missing or broken (shermans, m26, m24, m18, m19, m41). Also some external sounds like m24, hellcat and m41 are broken (m19 share sounds with m24 and m41 but m19 sounds amazing!)
Cheers.
wow amazing job with other players sound, 10/10

Very good job,but some tanks are missing engine sounds,such as Tiger E and flakpanzer 88.Maybe there are more,but these are the ones I tested so far.
out of interest how much memory do you have?, Because the tiger E does not have a missing engine sound
Haven't tried tiger E, but has the ram memory something to do with sounds? I have 4 gb is that the reason for any missing sound?
Yes, it's a mod. Pls don't expect it to be properly optimized. There are also more sounds and better quality thus taking more memory than the Vanilla sounds
3gb of memory,is that the reason?Because tiger E didnt miss the engine sound back in sound mod 1.63
Tiger E sounds perfect to me. (4gb ram)
Boris, can I ask something?
I dont know if its possible for you to change this kind of thing in the files.....but dont you think the engine volume of other players is too loud?
They seem to be louder than my tank, or the same, and could be lower than mine...its so much bass(really) and noise around, hard to hear the engine sound of my tank...
and makes too much noise here in the apartment :P
Thank you in advance!
Unfortunately I can't agree, I find the new players sound really nice and balanced now, actually it used to be very quiet before this new update. Tanks are very loud. If there is something to change it should be a little, but just a little less loud, but I have no complain about the actual volume levels.
Cheers
Yeah!!
I just came here to correct myself, kind of....
The volume of tanks are good, same as before I think...
but I played some more, and found the "culprit", the Tiger's(I and II) new engine sound....its waaaayyy louder than all other tanks, being with the player or others.
And it has too damn much bass(and my subwoofer is already lowered)!!! It vibrates all my room, I cant use the same volume that I use for all the rest of the game!
The "wruuuuuuuhh" it makes is unbearable.
And one other thing, I saw you added this boom/bass to the GER 128mm gun sound, and again, its not good for the speakers!
Its not needed...it was perfect before...so please, if you could change it back, I would appreciate very much!!
Yeah its true, I have been playing tigers today and they are way louder than the others (the others are also a bit louder than before which is fenomenal imho) I had to volume down my subwoofer because it was all rumbling lol.
However I think the 128mm needed a bit of bass this time, I find it nice now.
Aha sry mate, will lower the tigers next patch,
Unless I get more complaints I think I will leave the 128mm as is. It is a huge weapon
Awesome :D
Thank you for your reply!
Just the tigers a little, the rest is perfect! Thanks!
Thx Boris o7
Since today I can't open game with your mod installed from win64.exe, it starts launcher and replaces your files with original ones. Anyone knows how to fix it?
Im having the same issue :( Gaijin did something so it detects non original files so the launcher starts.
I found a way to bypass it:
1. first run the launcher and let it download all files
2. Close launcher and run aces.exe
3. When the yes/no window appears, replace sound files.
4. Click NO to start the game as usual.
Now Laincher run after click on aces.exe ....
Patch...
You just need to uncheck "work in progress" in your launcher, it works.
Eh, mine doesnt work
Yes, its not work(
I already show you how to bypass it on my last message, please read !.
i clicked work in progres also starts launcher imediatly
Now it doesn't work, it worked once, wtf is going on ._.
Boris can you help us?
We cant run aces.exe anymore without goddamn launcher appearing
Guys please READ before posting...as I already said..
I found a way to bypass it:
1. first run the launcher and let it download all files
2. Close launcher and run aces.exe
3. When the yes/no window appears, dont close it, replace sound files.
4. Click NO to start the game as usual.
It's a bit tedious but its the only way I found.
Not an option since you need to wait forever every goddam time for the launcher to download the files and then you need to install the mod every time you want to play the game. Really not an option.
Even my little script doesnt work anymore -.-
Good job Gaijin....
And i found it annoying to reinstall after every minor update already...*sigh*
Unfortunately It's the only option for the moment. The whole operation takes less than 3 min to me, I also use a script to move mod files to the game folder.
Of course you can choose playing with vanilla sounds.
Cheers
Thanks!

TIP TO OPEN THE GAME/LAUNCHER USING THE MOD:
Its a little annoying, but its the best way(I think) if you want to use the launcher(like me, to count the hours played in steam), or, if the game doesn't alow running aces.exe alone anymore...
- Use JSGME(Generic MOD Enabler) to install/uninstall the mod files;
-> But, before you open the launcher, disable the mod with JSGME, AND delete the JSGME.exe to recycle bin(or move it to another folder)...then open the launcher->restore JSGME.exe->enable the mod->then hit PLAY...
You have to do this every time....the same goes if you use Reshade/SweetFX...then you need to delete dxgi.dll the same way you did with JSGME.exe.
--> Using JSGME:
In the root folder of War Thunder, put the JSGME files, and creat a folder named MODS, inside this folder, create a folder like "Boris", inside it create "Sound", and then put the mod files inside the "Sound" folder.
-->..\War Thunder\MODS\Boris\Sound\"mod files here"
Sorry for the long text!
GOD DAMNIT!!!!!!
It seems its not working since today(23.12)...the launcher reopens when you hit PLAY with the mod files on....will test with aces.exe
Not working to me either.
My method is the only solution at the moment.
i'm still testing, but you mean, analyse and download?!
Cause the analyse crap takes forever...I'll think of not playing anymore if I cant use the mod, and/or will post on the forum about not leting use sound mods....
They should pay Boris for its mod then, and incorporate into the game!!
This has nothing to do with anti-cheat ideas, they could exclude sound files from this...its on purpose.
Ok, you method works, but I liked to count the hours played on steam...
:(
But still, for those wo want to use the mod, can still use GME to make things faster:
- Before running launcher, check if mod is disable in JSGME, and delete JSGME.exe;
- Run launcher, and close it after is ready(downloading updates if any);
- Run aces.exe, but dont clic any button;
- restore jsgme.exe, and enable mod;
- Click on NO in the aces.exe window;
Pain in the ***
This is so stupid...i'm really mad at gaijin cause of this!
Yes that's what I mean. Maybe it takes longer in some low end computers and could be annoying. But that's the only way atm.
I'm thinking in something... Maybe we can save the original sound files in another folder, that way we can put them back anytime you want to play the game, so the launcher doesn't need to analyze the files again.
Then run aces.exe and put b0ris files.
Try it and tell me if it works.
see my reply above, i was writing it hehe
:P
the analyzing occurs only if detected modified files or the game have updates, if its being done like above every time, then it wont do the analyzing...
and...one can make the "disable mod and delete jsgme.exe" after it quits the game, in case of forgetting to do it the next time you would play...for not have to wait the analyze thing.
:)
Cool I will try it later!
Thanks!
