Something tells me the others will know only when their own troops receives a massive welcome package of lead form one of the structures.

And I don't think a few arty strikes is going to do much to those buildings.

each building has a health of 1000-2000 points. artillery also can't capture the buildings. so until those buildings are captured they'll continue to open fire on your troops. you'll have to move forces in through hostile buildings, capture them, and then capture the city center. even when you capture the city center your troops will not get resupplied, since the newly captured city will be under siege.

artillery and tanks definitely help, but even with four IS-2 heavy tank regiments it still took me a couple of minutes to finally capture the entire city.

Description

this is an example of one of the new "battlezone" buildings. this one is armed with six machine gun bunker attacks that can be used on both air and ground targets. suffice to say that the "Double the Guard" special op becomes extremely useful in urban combat scenarios with these new cities.

the buildings can be captured, but can not be targeted by regiments after they've been captured. friendly forces will automatically engage the enemy building when they get within combat range. buildings lost can be recaptured, but it can be very time consuming.

basic attacks are:
infantry sniper
machine gun (air & ground)
anti-tank sniper (rifle-based attacks, with anti-halftrack bonus)

some buildings will mix and match attack types while others will have uniform attacks.
