this is a sequel to the Gizmotron user-mod for Axis and Allies. featuring new types of weather & terrain. new, larger territory maps in skirmish mode. new experience ranks and bonuses (regiments improve up to 2000 exp points). 100+ special ops, new water-based units like cruisers and submarines (with torpedo attacks). nations included are Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Brazil, Canada, Communist China, Croatia, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, India (Allied), Indian National Army (Axis), Iran, Iraq, Italy, Japan, Mongolia, Nationalist China, Netherlands, New Zealand, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovak Republic (Axis), South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Turkey, the United States, Yugsolavia, and the Yugoslav Partisans more nations and territories available for WW2 mode, see images for details.
added a new faction for minor nations. these will include Greece, Yugoslavia, Sweden, Spain, and the Philippines. this faction will not be able to purchase armies. they will, however, be able to purchase technology and upgrade their existing forces. each territory will be occupied by a special custom-made defensive army on the WW2 map. I have used five generic generals (with now replacement Corps special op) to flesh out the game.
Africa now has a number of defensive infantry only armies. there are Belgian, British, French, and Italian defensive armies placed roughly where they should be. this screen shot shows Italy invading Yugoslavia at the start of a turn.
Could Africa be broken up further? Into smaller, more specific, territories.
We'll see after the release. A WWII game may take a while as is.
not sure. theharkonnen would have to weigh in on this matter for a definite answer. right now the new territories are capable of being highlighted, but we haven't changed the actual line drawings of the original artwork yet.
the WW2 Metagame takes considerably longer by virtue of having 16 different factions instead of 5. the Axis now have to conquer 10 factions instead of 3. the Allies need to conquer 6 factions instead of 2. it's much more difficult for players to build up the money needed to create invasion forces.
