I have a question here:

AFAIK these infantry spawned from the trucks, so what if all the spawned infantry get destroy? Will the trucks spawned more of them immediately? Say in a long and constantly battle, if somehow I was able to preserve the trucks so I got infinite number of inf without the need to retreat for refit (or actually the infantry are bullets while trucks are guns)?

the halftracks summon infantry on the same principles that airfields use to summon fighters for self defense. the game mechanics involved are identical to the ones that motivate aircraft carriers to spawn fighters to strafe ground targets on the shore.

There is an inventory limit of 5 infantry units and 1 infantry CO per halftrack.

there is a morale factor to the core halftrack regiment that prevents the scenario you described from happening. eventually the halftracks will rout or get destroyed. even with full upgrades the halftrack units will rout when the parent regiment's morale drops below a certain point.

the summoned infantry will only stay in the presence of enemy activity. this usually means that they disappear within three to five seconds of the enemy's departure.

it's possible to have them last longer by commanding the parent regiment to attack a specific building or target. this usually happens when attacking buildings or specifically targeted regiments. I've had to pull the halftracks back and give them time to heal while the summoned infantry pressed forward and fought to annihilation. sometimes the infantry will march half-way across the map to sustain the original attack. once the summoned infantry regiments are in combat or on the move you have no control over them.

the halftracks have to replenish their inventory (just like an airfield) before they can summon more infantry again. the scenario describing is not impossible-- but it's pretty rare.

then again, this is a new feature-- and I haven't had the chance to test out all the possible scenarios. if people find something unusual or interesting about the "Infantry Halftrack" summons feel free to post it here.

OK I understand the method, the halftracks are somewhat like a mobile airfield while the troops are airplanes. Thanks for the reply.

Anyway you mean if the haltracks get destroyed then the infantry will disappear right?

PS: I know it can be a bit uneasy for the modder but when will you release this mod?

may i ask a question? why did you use m3 halftracks for Bersaglieri unit? It isn't historically correct. May i suggest you to use the Fiat 665 NM ?
Moreover, what kind of tanks did you use for Italian faction? Did you make also heavy tank regiment?

Description

fast moving regiment that is great against infantry and decent against mechs. it's vulnerable to a mix of AT and sniper infantry regiments (like all halftrack regiments that summon subsidiary regiments)

it's expensive at $325. but if you group three of these regiments together you can usually clean house when dealing with enemy mortars and artillery. not so great against AT infantry and snipers, though.
