This one took me a long while to finish. Started it back 2018 or so, but i lost my interest a bit, so i haven't ever finished until now.

The story itself is creative with some good ideas like the powerups, but it didn't help the somewhat generic design and story (reused locations from previous mods weren't any better or anything), and the seriously annoying monster encounters, especially towards the end. If i didn't have my terror sound modded to silent, my ears would have probably exploded.

All in all I think i've played better mods by the author before, or this creation just didn't age that well. I accidentally took the easy way out near the end and just ran away, and I was glad to finally finish the mod and didn't reload a save to see a different ending.

Creative, decent, but not without a slight sense of boredom and annoyment towards the end. Bit weird design and story choices as well. I might try the remastered Final Revelations soon, i have much better memories of that one.

Very good mode. For full walkthrough see my channel: Swankest CZ

Great conclusion to the years-long saga of Amnesia mods from this creator! Very sad to see this series end but at least we got an awesome final CS to play. Extraction Point is similar to Dark Case, another great mod by this creator, with elements and places from Final Revelations sprinkled in. The callbacks to all his other mods in this series are so rewarding for people like me whom have played these custom stories for years, and for new players I recommend starting from the beginning. Extraction Point is definitely one of the more challenging mods he's done, as it should be. It's VERY well designed from a gameplay standpoint with a new power up mechanic unlike any other CS I know of.

This would be a 10/10 but I must mention the sound Every character has a text to speech voice and there's a LOT of dialogue. This detracts from the story and atmosphere so much, and comes off as pretty memey. Very strange creative choice.

Still, this is a GREAT custom story. Play all of his mods!

--review I posted into comments is pasted here--

I just finished this mod last night, and I can say with certainty that this mod is in my top 5 of all time - this comment will be rather long

I found there to be a few particular oddities, or mishaps, and I will mention the first one I encountered

1. I could not gain player control as the train crashes, near the start of the game (this was commented by someone else as well). I fixed this by doing what you recommended him, and edited the script to start me off with a lantern. I suspect this happens maybe because of conflicting custom stories, however that is just my guess

2. Shay's AI was somewhat buggy at sometimes - I had to purposefully let him kill and or hit me multiple times to get past him as he would continuously walk into a wall

3. some of the music in the custom story (I think it was only 2 tracks) were rather loud, and drowned out a lot of other sounds in the game

thats it. thats all that I felt was "off"

onto the goods:

this story has many non cheap, good scares - the only one I would maybe call foul is the plant pot in the room with the laptop (it didnt get me anyways), but there were multiple occasions where the scares felt authentic, warranted, and well done, especially since I have never played a custom story that made me jump more than twice in my 5 years of playing, unlike this one - notable mentions are: the lights going off in the underground area, re-opening the bookcase to see the girl standing there, and opening the door to see Shay (in the underground area).

monsters not having music - this feature was slightly distressing in the event you cannot focus on sounds (like the few instances of loud music), however, it added a large layer of fear back to the monsters that they had lost so long ago - not knowing when something has despawned, or has spawned leads to some intense moments, and actually forces the player to take initiative and move forward instead of just filing their nails in a corner, waiting for the music to resume to normal

the diversity - I feel that there were many elements of diversity, but the most obvious ones are the monsters, and the actual textures or objects in this story. there were many monsters, some infamous ones being the infected, and dog from penumbra, but also ones that I recognize from other custom stories (one from archaic twilight, I believe it was) and another being a crawling zombie (to be honest, I dont remember where this is from, I just know I first saw it what felt like ages ago - I even remember the scene.. it crawled into a small passage way towards you. wish I could remember CS name). the varying monsters and NPCs were refreshing, and the little girl was genuinely creepy, not a feeling I usually get from actual "characters" in other stories ////// next was the textures / objects. I observed that a portion of the custom stories was done with design elements of amnesia, while also having some from a modern (penumbra) setting. I actually wanted to create my own CS, but I felt I was forced into one setting or the other, because mix-matching them felt weird, and probably wouldnt be viewed well, but you proved to me it can be done, and good, at that, which really come together to signify the relevance and history of each location (such as the town areas feeling genuinely older, whilst other places like the pool feeling newer, and giving off a sense of a progressed civilization)

customs and interactables - I thoroughly enjoyed the power up abilities that were in this story; some of them easy to find, some not so much, and the effects of them were interesting (particularly the oil regeneration one). other things, such as recolored and or new entities, the computer to alter things in the game (or be used as a form of communication), and my absolute favorite: the trashcan hiding spot, all added to the story to make it feel fun and innovative

story - the story was easy to follow, and was rather interesting; the friendly NPCs in particular really added to the feeling that you arent in this epidemic alone; that its everywhere, and affecting everyone - Shay was also an intimidating character, and having him deceive the main character, and to turn out to be a monstrosity added to his complex.
the little girl felt a bit random - she didnt seem to get much explanation of her role or how she came to be, but I still appreciated her, and how creepy she was

----------------------------------------------------------------------

all in all, I really enjoyed this story; its very memorable and unique, from the emotionless, but amusing text to speech narrators (and some of their comments), to its mix-matching and new design elements - its really a change of pace from generic "woke up in castle cell" stories.

this one will remain in my top 5 favorites, and it is worthy of 10/10

This CS is all about adventure and puzzles! I will not say adventure lightly because the story does not hold your hand, it's like the old Silent Hill series, where it's up to YOU to choose which path you want to venture into, grant it, I did find it difficult to do so, but I learned the process and became independent. The puzzles were challenging and innovative. The gameplay however, was disorienting (not knowing where to go), but challenging, I could barely know where I am going, but like I said before: this story does not hold your hand.
The voice acting is understandable, it's sometimes awkward to record your voice or find a person to do so, nevertheless, computer generated voices did not bother me, it processed the story further than no voices at all. This CS is lengthy, the pay off of finding your correct path is rewarding personally, to me that is. Scares and horror aspect are there and executed fair, including custom monsters, but it became awkard to speak to them in the end. The animations and scripting was impressive, you managed to utilize your resources (e.g. vanilla Amnesia models) including custom models at your dispose. There however, did have a slight problem: why not give custom textures and models to the people you meet? I would be immersed even further! Anyways it was a well done story in which reminded me heavily of the Silent Hill series and slightly of Outlast, and that my friend(s), is how to win true horror (imo)! :D

Another excellent custom story from this creator

-Excellent mapping(bonus points for the details)
-Great Story
-Immersive ambient
-Well scripted events

If you are looking for an good custom story to play, you will not regret to play this one

A very well put together mod. Even though you had an extremely tight budget (Text-to-speech voices, premade custom monsters from Juras, free download SFX) I think it added a lot of charm to it and after a while it sticks to you.

Definitely give this mod at least a try.

It's no Final Revelations, but it's still one of the best Amnesia mods to have come out in a while. Really loved all the creativity and interesting mechanics. Wasn't a huge fan of the ending and I did encounter a few bugs, but this is still a very good mod that is worth playing, especially if, like me, you are a fan of the other mods made by this developer.
