Indeed. Sins may be old, but it's still really solid as a platform and while there are limits, you can still do a lot with it.

Description

Enterprise challenges the Gr'oth as the tide turns.

As Starfleet's flank wavered, the Klingons diverted the bulk of their force to attack Starfleet where they were vulnerable. It wasn't long before Starfleet's entire left flank had collapsed. The Federation fleet's position seemed to be untenable.

It was, however, a feint. Starfleet's position was not nearly so desperate as it appeared.

With the Klingons focused on driving home their assault on the main fleet, and their rear now exposed to Donatu V, Starfleet sprang their trap. Captain Decker's strike force rose from the planet's atmosphere, hitting the Klingon fleet from the rear as the main fleet consolidated their position and counterattacked.

Aboard the Gr'oth, Captain Karga suddenly found himself surrounded. His fury was tempered by his admiration of Starfleet's guile. Still, exposing his rear to a blind spot had been a foolish mistake. As Karga saw the tide of the battle turn, he knew it would be a costly one.

Aboard Enterprise, Captain April saw an opportunity. In diverting ships to protect their flanks, the Klingons had opened up a path to the Gr'oth. Knowing this opening would only exist for a short time, Captain April ordered his helmsman to intercept the Klingon flagship.

The two mighty vessels exchanged weapons fire as they closed the distance between them, neither ship diverting as both commanders pitted their nerves against the other. Both ships were only a handful of kilometers apart when the Gr'oth's shields finally fell.

Aboard Enterprise, Captain April gave the order to fire.

Aboard the Gr'oth, Captain Karga rose from his command chair, looking death in the eye as a photon torpedo slammed into the Gr'oth's command section.

With Karga dead and their flagship disabled, the Klingon fleet's position collapsed soon after. Taking the crippled Gr'oth in tow, the remaining Klingon ships retreated. Starfleet had won, at great cost. Whether the victory was worth it, however, remained to be seen.
