Ages of the Federation is a new total conversion mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion. This mod takes place in the Enterprise and Original series eras, focusing on the conflict between the early Federation and Klingon Empire. A resurgent Romulan Star Empire, angry and still licking its wounds after their defeat to Earth and her allies waits in the shadows, ready to take advantage of any of misstep by either the warring powers. The Xindi, new to the galactic stage are also eager to forge their own path.

The mod is not loaded via the ingame mod manager. In the downloaded archive there is a TXT-file called "EnabledMods" along with the mod-folder. This one goes together with the mod-folder into the "Mods-Rebellion v1.85"-folder. When you open the TXT it should look like this:

If not, put this into it. You then load up the game as usual and the mod should be enabled.

Hi i've been having the same trouble actually worked before but suddenly its not and i did try redownloading both the mod and reinstalled the game. maybe there was a game mini update i dont remember or something?

Hey guys! Its been a long time since I played SOASE and this mod caught my eye.. game is spectacular. Im an old school Armada modder from waaaaaaay back in the day.. and this thing is very well polished. Especially for not being tested before hand. I wanted to give myself a little refresher on the mechanics of the game and went to play the tutorial for basic operation.. and it crashed immediately. so thats my bug report. also a question. the Federation gets the NX-01 at the beginning of a game and she was destroyed during a battle.. how do you retrieve hero ships if that happens. also does the NX-01 get all the NX refits when they are researched.. NX MKII and MKIII I believe.. Thanks in advance! And keep up the great work!

Yes, they will get the refits; however they aren't really 'Heroes' like in Armada. You get Archer's voice, I think a tiny bit of dmg increase, that's about it - at least this was the case when I played the Beta several months ago. And once they're dead, they're dead. Hope this helps. ;)

This is actually in response to my original post still warily for approval regarding the enterprise starting with zero antimatter .. So I built a resupply station and it replenished the antimatter of the enterprise . But when I first started the match the enterprise had a zero pool of antimatter . Just thought I’d pass that along. Other than that still playing and testing things out and I’m really enjoying the mod

I have just tested this and the Enterprise starts with a full pool of antimatter at 150.

Have you tested this multiple times or was this just once you noticed it was empty? Could you have left your abilities on auto-cast and simply forgot about it?

It was the first time I loaded up the game and it was on a small map . It’s possible I just didn’t understand the new mechanics and it’s quite possible I auto enabled enterprises abilities . When i started a new game she had a full pool of antimatter so I’m not sure what it could’ve been . I think I’m just used to the mechanics of armada 3 with antimatter refilling up slowly after use . I’m still getting used to some of the different gameplay mechanics but as to my first issue I haven’t been able to repeat the zero antimatter pool with enterprise . Seems there’s a bit more micro managing with this but I’m still enjoying the mod . I hope I didn’t come off as complaining or anything , I just thought maybe it was a bug and that I should pass it along

That's fine. It's always worth checking if something is a one-off or if it's reproducible and if you can reproduce it exactly what the steps were involved and what the map was etc. This helps us narrow down what can be causing issues.

The work in this mod is incredible. Just want to congratulate the developers on the work done. I've been playing as Rommies (for a few hours) and have not found anything wrong yet.

I wish some of the powers were automatic. I like the managing powers part but most of the time we are doing something else besides the battle itself and I lose track of what ships are auto and what ships are not... It would be nice if we could ''research'' the ability to have some powers on auto (At least the option would be there for lazy people like me).

I remember reading something about the battles not being about numbers so the fleets are not huge. I like that so far. I remember playing as Feds on the previous version and I thought the Enteprise Behemoth was overpowered. The shield power kept it going and going... The Klingon and Rommie Behemoth are way less powerful. I guess I'm just not used to playing as Klingons or Rommies yet. In general I find better shields trump most everything else.

Hi all,

Anyone got problem with loading game?

i extracted rar file where it needs to be (My Documents - My Games - Ironclad Games - Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion - Mods-Rebellion 1.85 - AOTF_T4YW_V1.01), enablemods.txt is right where should it be but when i start game it shows me picture of starfleet insignia and it says loading then it kicks me back on desktop without any error?

Help please, i also have ARMADA 3 UPRISING mod that is running good

It is kicking errors in the background. Press ESC when it freezes on the loading screen and it will move past it.

Is the map designer available in that relase?
I am able to build maps with all options and the test is OK.

But when i try to launch it through the customer map menu.

I have all the time and immediately a military loss message.

Small and medium prebuild maps are OK!

Any clue?

Hey would it be possible to be able to build more than 1 starbase per gravity well, other than in multiplayer where your allies can also build one in your gravity wells? I like the thought of having multiple star bases, it just appeals to me =)
