While AWAAP development is still paused, hope is at hands: "Bandits, coming in at eight o'clock high...break, break, break,........Gold Wing take those fighters, Natley and McArthur with me, we're going after the bombers....I'm going in on the leader.........got him! his starboard engine's burning up.....follow my lead men, tally ho!" ".......Damn it Gold Wing keep those fighters off us, I'm being torn to pieces......primary fuel lines been hit.....Jesus, keep them off me you bastards....those last two bombers aren't going to shoot themselves down....good God they've got the Bristol, her tanks have blown, she's going down!" A Wing And A Prayer is a total conversion for the Homeworld 2 engine, moving the action from space combat to early twentieth century aerial battles between a variety of fictional aircraft and airships, ranging from scout fighters up to ironclad super Zeppelins. Drawing on the style of games like "Crimson...

A key feature of AWAAP is the ability to upgrade aircraft just as it was in Homeworld 2, except that AWAAP's upgrades will be much more specific. For example upgrading your fighters to fire armour piercing bullets will give them an edge over other fighters and gunships, while upgrading them to fire incidenary bullets will increase their effectiveness against bombers (and airships although obviously the effect of a fighter on a huge zeppelin is likely to be neglible).

Gradually I plan to update this thread with upgrades as they are determined.

Sense there were working concepts of jet engines as far back as the 1910s, I think one major Upgrade of the game could be the adoption of jet technology by the three powers (or at least the brits and the germans). This would be a massive upgrade that would bring the entire aircraft fleet up to the early jet age. examples
German intercepter -- major intercepter upgrade to something similar to the Heinkel He 162
British intercepter -- major intercepter upgrade to something similar to the de Havilland Vampire(or at least something not so AIM-54 Phoenixish)

German fighter bomber -- major fighter bomber upgrade to something similar to the Me 262 but more of a utilitarian design as to infacies that it is more of a bomber than a fighter
British fighter bomber -- major fighter bomber upgrade to something similar to the Gloster Meteor

German heavy fighter -- major heavy fighter upgrade to something similar to the Focke-Wulf Ta 183
British heavy fighter -- major heavy fighter upgrade to something similar to the Hawker P.1052 or the Hawker P.1081 But sporting a beefier design to infacies it as a hevy fighter

The problem with a jet engine upgrade is it would render all the propeller aircraft models obsolete.

As a rule all the upgrades should improve unit stats in some way without requiring a large amount of new game assets. For example armour piercing bullets might require a new bullet sprite to make it clear that the aircraft in question is firing a special bullet, but other than that the only work would be coding.

I do plan for there to be some engine upgrades along the lines of superchargers etc, but i think altering every unit to use jet engines is just too much work,
