Keep in mind that the sailors like the men of Pelargir usually don't wear heavy armor (drowning is not the most desireable death) so in my opinion the elite class should not have typical gondor-über plate armors etc. :D

The current plan is to have a heavy unit that would be used by Pelargir lords on land and a lighter marine unit that would be used on ships:)

Personally I think normal padding would fit better. It's actually lighter than leather, more protective, and looks cooler imo.

Late reaponse, I know. But the leather is suppose to be based off roman navy armour.

There will be plenty of gambesons and padding armours for the rest of Gondor :)
