Your eyes slowly adjust to the gloom but immediately start to sting. Dust and plaster has fallen down from the ceiling, and you taste it in your dry mouth. Slowly the ceiling lights flicker on as the emergency generator starts up, and people begin to pick themselves up... ...Its August 9th. You've just survived the biggest killer of man in history. In 30 minutes, 3.6 billion people have died across the globe. Unknown to you, the population of the UK has quartered, and will continue to drop. You think briefly of your family before being dragged onto your feet by your platoon sergeant... "Come on son, there's work to be done!" Comes the gruff voice from the dark... but not yet... for now we wait... in the dark...

i like this. i think backpack clothing has been overlooked in many games. this would be epic if you could get this guy to stop and actually use his equipment to call in strikes etc.
thats what we hope to do with it.
great. i would love to see it damaged if someone shot it. i love war movies where the guy tries to call a radio strike only to find his radio man peppered with bullets and subsequently his radio is smoking. it would also be cool, but hard to do, to use a dead guys radio if it wasnt damaged.
yeah with the class system, a signalman can use the radio with ease, perhaps a no signalman can pick up a radio, but it takes twice as long to use, and he cant uses all the functions... what do you reckon?
yeah that would work. maybe a system as simple as press e on a dead body if there is a radio on them...and yes make it longer to use cause they are not trained for it. im not sure what the radio does in this game (in regards to all the functions) but if you were to limit commands i think they should be something like enemy spotted or need backup.
catch me on msn and we'll talk about how the radio works :-)
