Imagine a world where the Allies didn't win the war, nor did the Axis. Instead, the war just continued on and on in an unsteady stalemate. Welcome, to the world of 1949. In this world Germany decided not to bomb London, but instead continued its attacks on Britain's airfields. Then, the Russians lost at Kursk. Finally, D-Day fails. With these victories, Germany has managed to halt the Allie's progress. In the Western Theatre, the Allies and the Axis each plan the invasion of the other's vital territories. In the Pacific, Japan and the United States are dueling over tiny islands with giant fleets and atomic weapons. Now, the stalemate is about to be broken. Germany is preparing an all out invasion of Britain. As tough and valiant as the Allied troops defending the Sceptered Isle are, some of their leaders are beginning to that they will be unable to hold against the Wehrmacht.
I think the name is self explanatory of what the unit is, but not of what weapon its troops are wielding right now. All that can be said is both jorge2125 and nachocheese should be given credit for its elements. Wait for the next update for more info.
They look Angry :D Angry Germans!
Sauerkraut ^^
Well, they are from a penal battalion...
How many men will be in a single penal unit? I love the skulls on their helmets, by the way.
I thought it was a parachute. haha, i suck.
AWESOME
Id like to more about their weapons if possible. Those drum fed smgs intrigue me.
Hmm at first glance I would imagine it being a modified PPSh-41, knowing how much the Germans loved them, they could have commenced their own prodution and variants.
I'll repost this comment. As far as I can see by their helmet markings suggest that they are Finnish. Which would explain the weapon which I believe to be a Suomi.
Penal battalions are criminals.I don't think there were any Finnish PoWs.It does look like a Suomi, though.
I actually didn't know what a Suomi is. The weapon they are carrying only looks vaguely like it from this perspective, mostly because you don't get a good look at it. It actually looks mostly like the STG-45. I can say that their helmets were inspired by the Finnish unit you're talking about, because I liked the way the symbol looked. I just thought it might have more impact when placed on a penal unit. If Finland is involved in the war, it will be part of another Axis faction, not the PE.
Its cool and all but don't you think a squad armed with only shotguns are a little impractical?
They won't all be armed with shotguns, they're just modeling them for me. In the game, these weapons are relatively new/rare, with only one per unit in certain units (after an upgrade has been researched). This is also done as a balancing maneuver because the weapons are actually rather powerful.
this like from Belarus movie Come and See
