Imagine a world where the Allies didn't win the war, nor did the Axis. Instead, the war just continued on and on in an unsteady stalemate. Welcome, to the world of 1949. In this world Germany decided not to bomb London, but instead continued its attacks on Britain's airfields. Then, the Russians lost at Kursk. Finally, D-Day fails. With these victories, Germany has managed to halt the Allie's progress. In the Western Theatre, the Allies and the Axis each plan the invasion of the other's vital territories. In the Pacific, Japan and the United States are dueling over tiny islands with giant fleets and atomic weapons. Now, the stalemate is about to be broken. Germany is preparing an all out invasion of Britain. As tough and valiant as the Allied troops defending the Sceptered Isle are, some of their leaders are beginning to that they will be unable to hold against the Wehrmacht.
Okay folks, here's my first attempt at modeling a weapon on my own. I took a bit of the texture from jorge2125's Beretta 1938 submachine gun, but I may replace it. In any case, it is not complete, there are several details, such as firing sound and texture details that need to be added. Still, I thought you all might like to see it since it is in game and all that.
It look pretty darn good !
**** yea I hope you guys also add the Johnson LMG as well US mountain brigades used them to great effect in Italy. Seeing as this was also expensive it would be better to issue it to ranger and other such elite units. Shame it lost the trials against the M1 Grand I liked this one alot more that the Grand least you can top of your mag with the Johnson
You'll also be happy to know that Sudaevs (AS-44, I think they were called) will be in the mod as well, once they've been modeled/animated. I won't tell you who gets them, but they're on the list. Oh yeah, and the Johnson LMG will be equipped as the chief LMG for the squads that will wield Johnson rifles. The high cost of Johnson's weapons actually plays into which faction gets them.
Win :_D
Are you guys going to consider the RPD aswell, or is that too modern or doesn't fit in the time scale? (seeing as mass roll out was quite late even though the weapon was finished in '44)
x2. But i assume that it's gonna be for the Russians.
And first I thought your comment was BS 'cause I always thought that the RPD was designed in the 50s to complement the AK. A little research showed that I was wrong. Thanks ^^
The RPD will be in the mod for at least some Russian units.
Good job Lord_Wiffleby, I cannot wait to play this :)
