Should I massively alter the story of Black Ops to include Max Payne, or should I keep it in the spirit of the original?
While I could put Payne in the story through comic changes (possible by altering the .wad), titles.txt changes, and maybe insert his commentary in the triggers somehow (if I could figure out how suXin's little .cfg system works), it might change the original vision too much.
There's also the thing where it might not have enough Payne's commentary on it due to it being quite different, kinda odd to have a Payne-esc comic section be mostly silent except for the music and the page turning sound.
It'll also take a bit more time, I've got a pretty heavy month of IRL stuff coming up next week, so, finishing that might be longer than it used to be.
Otherwise, I could keep the Black Ops theme.
Everything would be pretty similar as in the original, there will be a few improvements here and there, like changing the low quality repeating music that plays in certain sections and altering the comics to reflect the altered models, basically a Black Ops Remod.
The mechanics will be all HP though, so atleast there's that.
Adding Max Payne would only contribute to the story.
I think there's no need of mixing the story and protagonist, but that's just my opinion...
I reckon keep it in spirit of the original.
