You are the monster, I am the monster. but...
The Other (the Lacanian Other) is hell!
and so,
"Hell is other people" (!)- Sartre
or we can invert that and say:
Monters and the abyss are real.
When you fight one, you might become one. For Nietzsche was the problem of being the AntiChrist, so to speak. he was forced to creat something beyond Christianity and he failed. We can say he failed because he was trying to negate the monster he created after the first fight against the monster-christ. i say the solution is, let there be monsters. Accept the abyss and you will find strenght and freedom. Of course that is not the paladin anymore but the funambulist (that he talks about in Also sprache Zaraturstra).
if menhumanity is a road, let it become the funambulist. that is the overman. That is the one that gazes, because has learned not to fight the irresistible order of things. The the abyss is freedom, and sometimes, there is freedom in the abyss. Then we come down (because everything that goes up, must come down, he says) we want, we desire and in that we lost all sense of duty. That is the greatest hammer against a structure.
So yes, monsters are real and we need them, so in the end we just look at them from the highest of mountains. The other or the Other (lacanian, sartrean, whatever) are not a symptom of what is wrong, they merely are there. Of course this only makes sense for a moment, that is why we are all too human.
Everybody gets their own meaning from Nietzche, for me is a teaching against "Totalitarian" feelings.
I think "Hell" is what lies buried deep in our human nature, our "primal" state, the state we are all forced to hide so that we can normally function in society. If we discard our logic, our reasoning and mental abilities,we end up being the most miserable of animals, the animal who would be willing to kill so that he would survive further. If "Hell" would break loose, then we will be back in the Stone Age.
Christianity is doomed to fail, nothing is eternal. The wheel turns slowly but surely, and all the lies and the deceit spread by Christianity are now backfiring.
There are no monsters. The monsters are humans.
