You could use laboratory key in storage, it opens optional room with note in there.

probably you're done them right, because all of valves are hard scripted so you can't go back without turning them on(first valve unlocks second, second unlocks third, third lets you go back, then forth).
Even more difficult that I can't get same problem so I can't find reason behind it.
I'll try ask my friend to test it. It would take some time but I really REALLY hope I could fix this. '^'

I test this thing some more times and for me it all works fine. BUT because people are still having not good times with it I'm adding video about it. My hopes are it would help or else I would not have any other choice except to rewrite whole script(which I realy don't wanna do ;n;).

Oh, reason why you cannot go back in pressure room is bug in map script:
For determine whatever player do something in my cs I use global variable. So when you turned water on you set this variable to '4' and now game creates blockbox in this door on every map enter(this is my fault honestly) but turning pressure on doesn't change global variable it just deactivates blockbox. And until you'll turn on engine, game would just creating blockboxes in this door on every map visit.
But fear not I fixed that. There would be no more such BS! :D

It should work. Are you sure that you do everything right? I mean you need 3 coal pieces in furnance, water stream and cog wheels in place. I just tested it, and for me it all works fine. 0~0
