As a modder i would think that you would know best that the .exe MUST be in the same folder as the rest of the data otherwise the program won't launch at all. Yes i did have the launcher in the same folder as the .exe I can only think of 2 reasons why the launcher won't work. Either the launcher is broken or its not reading the .exe properly because its modified to not require the CD. I read the install instructions on Moddb about changing the .ctr into .big and that worked so maybe next time you should include that in your readme. As far as TFD directories go its pretty simple once you have TFD,Generals, and ZH, installed you can copy the ZH folder then mod the copy. The default string for windows XP is C:\Program Files\EA Games\Command & Conquer The First Decade\Command & Conquer(tm) Generals Zero Hour

Could using a smaller no-cd cracked generals.exe cause this issue? and before you ask yes i do own a legit copy of both The first decade and the Ultimate Collection.

After fallowing the read-me instructions, for 9 Beta, i open the launcher and click launch and i get "ERROR: The system cannot find the file specified". This is why i hate launchers. So is there a way to hard install it like before?

Yes it is. The only way to have Easy and/or Medium is to take the mod out and play Vanilla Zero Hour or use a different mod. If you go for the latter don't get Shockwave cause its harder than this one. At least i think it is... haven't played it since i found this one so i might be wrong. Have you even tried beating Hard? Just because it says its hard doesn't mean it actually is. I've been playing this game for 6 years and have used a bunch of different mods, Shockwave, Destructive Forces, Rise of the Reds, Project Raptor, theres one i can't remember the name of that had the Ragnarok super weapon that shot similarly to the allies' Proton Collider from RA3 and i have to say hard on Contra isn't that much different from easy or medium on other mods.

They didn't just remove the limit on hackers they did it for Supply Drop Zone and Black Market too. they basically reverted the whole economy back to 007. I can finally play China again!

Hello, I've attempted some Skirmish matches against the computer and have come across a problem. Every time i start a match and the opponent is Robots, Flame, or Assault forces, they are instantly defeated. Also I find the Insane Armies to be MUCH weaker than i remember them. i would put them on par with a medium. Fighting insane Tank General i noticed that there was a lack in sniper cannons when attacking my base. And by that i mean there were NO sniper cannons attacking my base. Fighting insane Air Forces the only air units that attacked me were King Raptors and Comanches or whatever they are now and those were in short supply. And for both of them virtually no defense was built. Do i need the 007 AI fix for them to start working? Or is there a step from 008 Beta II, like renaming a file, that i forgot to do? Starting with a clean ZH I inserted !Contra008, !Contra008EN, !Contra008MNew, and !Contra008VLoc, and renamed them with .big suffix. I tried using the starter thing but every time i tried it said it wasn't a valid Win32 program. Oh and i renamed Scripts (Configuration Settings) to Scripts1.

Hiya! i'm not really looking to join your team but i've got almost everything needed. I'm 23 and have been playing Zero Hour for at least 6 years on and off trying different mods to see if i can find one i like enough to stick with for a while and Contra has exceeded expectations, particularly with the need to rank up before getting super weapons. The first one i played when i found this was 007 ,before the launcher fix, and have been fallowing ever since. I've got 641 wins in Skirmish alone and usually only play 4-8 player FFA against insane armies. on 008 beta1 i beat challenge mode with at least 4 different generals despite not being able to rank up while fighting Gen.Ling on medium. i tried fighting tank on hard but i couldn't keep up with 12 Uber tanks rushing me at rank 2 or 3. I can't wait to play 008FINAL maybe toxin gen. will be better like it was on 7. i could use toxin on 8B1 but 8B2 broke toxin by taking out bomb trucks and messing with Karakourt defiler skills among other things. on 7 NOTHING entered my base or left it, on 8B2 i can't keep anything out! also i dunno what happened but transition from 8B1 to 8B2 all but annihilated my skill level with China (except Nuke)but boosted skill level with previously unusable generals like robots, lasers, and assault forces. Robot Commando on 8B1 was the Shiz-nit, using ONLY robocommando i killed one and a half full bases AND 4-6 Karkadans (assault forces Uber Artillery) before it died. I guess thats enough out of me... but before i go could you post a Changelog before the release? and what are your plans for 9?

with the limitless population and quick & easy resource acquisition that comes with ZH its already better then Halo Wars. i do hope you're going to at least consider adding additional armies/sub armies because i find that the more choices in who i get to play as makes it more enjoyable overall and more interesting on the battlefield.

i found another problem with Leonidas. i was using it to flatten my friends when one of them used Stealth generals' Panic Button generals power to distract it but instead it made the unit in-operable. couldn't select it, move it, attack with it and it didn't fire at any of the distractions caused by the generals power it just stood there. it did attack a cargo plane that flew overhead but thats it. and no stealths' blackout tower thing wasn't responsible. oh and i haven't tried to reproduce it but i think the auto rank up generals power for AF gen. kills 0% constructed airfields.

oh my bad. i don't normally use the sneak attack generals power cause i can't stealth it the way i can the manual build one. i'll have to look at it now tho.

its not just demo its all GLA that have sneak attack. u can't buy it cause its given to you free but u can't use it on any island other then the one u start on. if your having trouble with SW then try capturing her particle cannon and using it on the 2 artillery platforms and the typhoon AA defence and taking a tunnel rig or BTR with quad cannon and builder over there and build the tunnel network yourself. amphibious vehicles can be built at the building u start with.

Leonidas has firing sound loop error it plays even when not firing until game ends (or unit is killed. unconfirmed) The Shiatan cannon cannot swivel to aim anyware to the top right of it's position (north-east). And general Ling's tank hunter looks like a dead person walking. GLA airfield is really hard to click on and the non-demo general one builds 4 planes instead of 3. Some USA buildings like SW SDI cannon and Blackout missile system cannot purchase Security Systems upgrade. Some GLA units continue to speak english like toxin generals RPG Trooper. To the DEV team: i hope i didn't spoil any surprises with this bug post.

toxin generals uber unit's voice is really loud compared to the rest of his stuff and its hot key conflicts with the default select-all button Q. when tasked to attack a distant object toxin generals uber unit will un-stealth. super weapon's heavy dozer hot key conflicts with the security upgrade. once super weapons' patriots' drones get shot down they won't let you purchase another one. laser generals defense turret shadow is choppy and does not turn correctly. it seems that aircraft can see stealthed defense sites even without a stealth detector nearby <--questionable. Robots' Nemisis dose not live up to the price tag of 6k same goes for the saraphim uber unit despite robots, in general, being on the OP side <--opinion. oh and assault forces flying infantry CAN be shot down with china's red arrow but not with SW's patriots.

if you click on more downloads and download the 007 challenge and USA missions unlock (Oct 15, 2009) and stick it in there it should fix that problem. it worked for 8 beta so it might work for this too. also a persisting problem since beta 1 is that assault general's flying infantry unit can't be shot down with missile based AA try it vs super weapons on gen challange

sorry about double posting but i wasn't 100% sure if i saw it right so i went into a LAN game and had the other player do as i asked. as air forces i built a power station out in B.F.E. and positioned a cloud of 36 Comanches above it and had him attack the power station with tank generals earth shaker. the first round made it look like they had no health left (red health bar without any bar in it) and second shot killed like 30 of them

while playing as air force in generals challenge fighting tanks i noticed that my northern position was being attacked. i scroll up just in time to watch an earth shaker artillery shell obliterate my group of choppers holding position over my patriot defences. i thought i should tell u in case it wasn't noticed before.

i got 2 questions: 1. will the installation be more simple then previous versions? and 2. will i be able to install it directly into a copy of my original ZH folder instead of the original itself? like select install location. cause i remember back in 006-007 when the installer broke.

Been watching/playing this mod for a while now, glad to finally evolve to 008 and look even cooler when i Nuke my grandpa and friends till there's nothing left but a greasy smear. I'm going to play Nuke first and try out the Yan Wang, then try robots and see if i can play them better now that they actually have some armor. next time he plays he won't know what any of the new stuff can do and i'll have an unfair advantage HAHAHA i don't feel bad about it cause he would do the same to me. Good night and beware that pass... its not as unguarded as it seems.
