Unfortunately the starting town is in Amstelveen (I believe that's the correct spelling, sorry Joure lol), not in Amsterdam. I'm glad you recognize the architecture though, Joure tried hard to make it look like the real thing.
As for the training sequence yeah I admit sometimes NPCs can play hide and seek with the player. Just a behavioral bug more than anything I'm sure.
Sorry to hear you didn't particularly enjoy your first impression but I assure you the mod gets better.
It's a shame you didn't enjoy our mod, but I do not understand your hate towards the story setting or direction of the mod. Plenty of people who have played our mod understand perfectly what's going on for the most part.
As for John, whether or not you like him is your opinion. Robert (His voice actor) is one of the most talented VA's I have had the pleasure of speaking with and does John very well. If John's personality offends you, don't spout remarks about how his VA's lines are crap or his sound quality is bad.
Also, I don't know where you come off with the whole "Alot of this stuff is just base HL2 Assets" when 95% of the content in the mod is custom made. Almost every texture, sound, and model is scratch built for our storyline and atmosphere. Please don't mislead people with your ill conceived arguments.

I tested it yesterday with some of the save files in the recycle bin from a previous version but didn't get a chance to post. Yeah it screws up the game, just restart.

Excellent work on the map guys, I could learn a thing or two about ambiance just from this shot.
A challenge makes it all the more satisfying to beat! And I will say Dead Space was mildly difficult.
Work continues and hopefully by the end of the week we'll have a build for the beta testers. After that its just bugfixing and such then a DLC release as far as I'm aware.

I am currently the leader of the {-SDW-} Clan, a head storywriter of the 1187 modification, Mercenary Concept Designer, and a Voice Actor for 1187. 1187 has progressed very much in the last few months, and I am proud of our accomplishments. Looking back I can say that this mod is completely worth the time and effort needed to pull it off. I'm looking forward to what else we can accomplish.
