Installed the Mod correctly, however i cannot figure out how to get the mod to run with my windows 10. I need to change the Settings to get by that but cant figure it out. Any suggestions will be appreciated!

I'm very sad right now. I've played this mod on a different computer than the one i am on now, and this mod is one of my favorite Star Wars mods, but I've run into a problem. I just downloaded it, but the system says that I need a better operating system, and it gives me an example using saying Windows 2000 or better. However, my computer runs Windows 8. Is there anything I can do to cause the mod to work. Please help.
