Awesome, much better already! I like how kicking and the blade are bound to the same button. One thing I don't like in most Doom mods (especially Project Brutality) is that they clutter functions with lots of buttons that essentially do the same thing, but this is a pretty clever way of fixing it. And now I can cling to walls with any weapon! Oh yeah!

The only thing now is that the kicking attack moves the player way too fast if you get what I mean. When I use the kick attack it's like I have a jet rocket up my bum and Doomguy just pounces across the area like a cheetah. It could be slowed down. Other than that, this is a great improvement. Thank you!

Thanks for answering! I'm glad you agree with my suggestions lol.

Anyway, it's not the claw function that's actually bothering people (including me); it's the sprites themselves. I think it's a cool mechanic but it's just the looks of it that are awkward and could be improved. Ideally it would be better to have both the Doom claws and kicking as a feature. A good sprite I think would fit with the Doom claw is Endless123's Predator Beta 1 claws. It's hard to describe why it would fit perfectly with Doom EXP so I'll have the link for the mod AND a preview of the sprite itself for you to check out. If you plan on using it though, remember to credit the author of the sprite, Endless123 :

Like I said, it's a little hard for me to describe why it looks a lot better but I guess it's because they look nicer and "fit" with the mod. It literally has the same black gloves as Doom EXP.

I'm cool with the sound replacement being an addon if that's the case. Maybe it could even be usable with other mods too, which would be neat.

Hi, I really liked this mod and I'm enjoying it so far (especially the mobility of it) and want to make some further suggestions for it. I really like the fact the mod adds many new things into the game while still keeping it very vanilla-like with the gunplay and enemies generally feeling the same. It's pretty damn cool, but I wish there was a little more to it :

-I'd like to have kicking back as a feature, or at least some sort of option that allows to toggle between the claws or kicking.

-More enemy variants, even if they're just cosmetic. Personally it would be nice if the mod had integration with Smooth Doom monsters, so that it improves the monsters and adds variety to them while keeping the gameplay vanilla-like.

-I like the fact you can shoot the items themselves and even move them around. How about taking that one step further and make the items and decorations destroyable too, for extra realism? Maybe even destroyable bodies too, so when you shoot/kick/claw bodies they turn into gibs.

-Secondary fire modes for all weapons, and maybe tie them to the XP level like Heretical Doom. I think one useful secondary fire mode that would be very useful is one for the Chaingun that lowers the rate of fire but increases it's accuracy, for example.

-Integrate a default HUD for the mod. The mod at this point is already a total conversion of sorts so I feel like it would be fitting if Doom EXP had a HUD to complement it's style. The HUD you used in the trailer video looks excellent and could be a nice fit if you integrated it with the mod itself. Anything but the ugly *** GZDoom default.

-More sound changes. I liked the combination of Doom 3 and Doom 2016 sounds for the weapons and I think that could be expanded for the enemies and environment (doors, buttons, etc) as well.

This is a really damn good mod and I see that you can make a lot of improvements to it. I really like it's style and the fact it adds new things while keeping the gameplay accurate to vanilla Doom. Keep it going!

It would be cool if there was an option between using the Doom Claws and kicking. I like the Doom Claws as a feature but the sprites just look horrible and the gloves aren't even the same. It's jarring. If the sprites could be fixed or if there was an option to kick instead of clawing then I would appreciate that. I'd also rather prefer that the clinging to walls feature wasn't exclusive to the firsts. It's a cool feature and I wish I could stick to walls and fire weapons at the same time to increase mobility.
