I agree with Assassin_James when he says he feels "bummed out"

While I know it isn't GoaFan's fault that 1.83 has been constantly delayed, I feel disappointed that GoaFan hasn't said "the hell with it" and just released the mod version for 1.83. Who knows when 1.83 will be released. It was suppose to be released every month since January, and we are still waiting.

I for one have begun to lose interest in this mod... which is a shame because it isn't the mods fault, but I am tired of waiting for something that is suppose to be released, and never gets released.

Understanding that the time-frame is up in the air, can you provide a general release date? Spring, summer, fall, winter? ... 2016? 2017?

Or are you not really sure on that either?

Right now you have to be careful about which mod version you download. If you are playing Sins Rebellion on GOG, then you have to download the Alpha 3.11 release. If you are playing on Steam then you have to download the Alpha 3.1 release instead.

This is because Steam users are still on Sins Rebellion Version 1.82, while GOG users have been updated to Sins Version 1.83. Like I said, a little confusing but if you aren't sure what version your game is on, then it will be listed on the bottom corner of your main menu screen in game.

Sins Version 1.82 -- Use Mod v3.1
Sins Version 1.83 -- Use Mod v3.11

as ahobgoblin stated, this is a problem with the game itself. Over on the Steam forums Ironclad already acknowledged the bug, and hope to have a patch for the problem soon.

Any Idea on when Steam plans to update sins to 1.83?? I'm starting to get impatient waiting for the update so that you can release your updates.

huh, this is a great question. I wonder if this is my problem in Galaxy forge with not being able to get starforge or centerpoint to spawn. I'm going to go and disable all my mini mods, see if any of them are interfering with the game.

Uh yes... It is not yet known how many victims there are as a result of this bug, but it is expected a great number of people experience it, myself among them.

Since we are on the topic of Moral. Does loosing ships affect moral, or only Planets??

Have you applied LLA (large Address Aware) to your Sins.exe??

I just find that weird because the noSuperweapons mini mod (current version) works perfectly fine for me, on both 1.82 and 1.83 versions of Sins....

Hope you get it working, I hate superweapons too ;)

This might sound really stupid.... but if you edited the enablemods.txt yourself, did you make sure you didn't make any spelling mistakes when you put the enable superweapons mod into the txt file??

If you have downloaded the right Mod version, and your game is still crashing, then like Exakter said in his post, make sure you have applied Large Address Aware to your game.

Happy Gaming and Happy New Year.

lol, I swear I see this question on here every other day. All good, the creators of this mod are usually really good at answering all these questions... but to answer your question, the Empire uses the Scout unit to capture orbital buildings.

Thanks

You have to make sure that all the mini mods are ABOVE the Interregnum and E4X mods.

I wanted to try your mod out, but I'm already on Sins 1.83 :(

GOG users are already updated to 1.83, while steam users have the ability to manually update to 1.83 if they want too.

Steam -- Right click on the game and select "properties" then navigate to the tab that says "beta" and now select the option to "opt-in" to 1.83. The update will automatically download.

Here is the game file. The artifact density is set to zero because I didn't want any random artifacts appearing and giving me false hope.

Pastebin.com

And I eagerly await the update to Galaxy forge, hopefully that will correct my issues.

Sorry GoaFan, I may have jumped the gun... Looks like it was just random luck, because now I cant get the Ancient Entity to load in game anymore. Its so strange, looking at the .galaxy file in notepad everything looks right, its set properly, i just cant figure out why it wont spawn.

Thanks for attempting to help me with this, but if nobody else has reported something like this then clearly I'm doing something wrong on my end. I just cant figure out what that is...

AWESOME! I FIGURED IT OUT! Anybody else having this problem this is how you fix it (probably). I don't know why but Galaxy forge always sets the Entity Count for a planet at 0, and there doesn't appear to be a way to fix this within Galaxy forge, you have to physically go into the .galaxy with a text editor and change the entity count to 1

1. Open up your .galaxy map using a text editor like notepad.
2. Search for the planets name that you set an Ancient Entity to spawn at
3. scroll down a bit and you will find the line that says "entity count"
4. This will be set at 0, change it to 1

Here is an example

planetItems
templateName ""
subTemplates 0
groups 1
group
condition
type "Always"
param ""
owner "NoOwner"
colonizeChance 0.000000
items 1
item "Ancient:Entity:Starforge"
spawnProbability 1.000000
useDefaultTemplate TRUE
------->> entityCount 1
asteroidCount 0

Well... IDK anymore. I've literally spent the last 6 hours trying to figure it out, and playing with every combination possible in Galaxy forge to get it to work.

I can NEVER get an Ancient Entity to appear at the planet I chose.

I've messed around with the planet templates, the ownership of the planet, its attributes, nothing works. I'm kind of fed up, I don't have the knowledge to troubleshoot this any further.

Is there somewhere I can maybe upload my Galaxy file and you can take a look at it? If it works for you, then it is clearly a problem on my end of things. If it doesn't, then you will absolutely have more of a knowledge about it to figure out whats wrong.

I also tired reverting back to SoSE v1.82 and use Interregnum v3.1 and it still wont work, I cant get the ancient weapons (any of them, I've tried them all) to show up on the planet I tell them to show up on. And artifacts show up on planets I tell them to show up on, but they are almost never the artifact I tell them to be.

I created a small 6 planet map to limit any potential variables, and it still wont work.

Good Afternoon GoaFan. No luck. I tired just the star forge without any artifacts and it wasn't there.

I'm noticing that things I put at planets aren't spawning correctly. The planets I place Artifacts at have artifacts, but they are never the artifact I told the planet to have, they are always a randomly generated one.

Another thing I did just to see what works and what doesn't. I tried placing the "flag:Grant1000XP" on my home planet, which ended up placing phase stabilizers at my home planet instead of giving me XP.

It seams to be a common theme here where I'm telling a planet to have something, and it seems to get confused and place something else instead. (with the exception of ancient weapons, those dont show up at all)

Hello. I posted this under the Galaxy Forge Mod comments section, but I don't think anybody reads there anymore, so I am re-posting here. I'm really hoping somebody can help me out. I have built a large map with 80-100 planets, and have 8 players set up on it. I have placed the "Starbase" artifact and an ancient weapon thing (star forge) at one of the planets. They are both set as "always" and "no owner". But whenever I play the items that I set for that planet aren't there. The planet is a Terran planet, and is not set as a 'fair' planet.

I can't figure out what I am doing wrong, and its really starting to annoy me. When I test out the map the planet sometimes gets an artifact, but it is never the artifact that I set for the planet, it is always a randomly generated artifact, and the Star Forge is never there.

Some other potentially useful information. I'm running SoSE v1.83, Interregnum v3.11, and using Galaxy forge Alpha 3.

Can anybody help me out?
