Really damn good. The ReadMe file made it clear you guys know about the bugs present in the demo, so I feel no need to complain about them. Instead, I'd rather talk about the things that make it great. First off, the art direction. You've captured that 1980's and 90's cyberpunk style that NeoTokyo had perfectly. The gunplay is also good, even if it is pretty average Source combat at the moment, and it's nice seeing NeoTokyo's guns again in a new context. TL;DR, I'm really looking forward to seeing this completed, and I hope the process is going well for your team.
This looks awesome, I hope it gets done soon.
Don't get me wrong, this is a really great mod, although it does have some glaring issues. Heroes are massively overpowered, especially Jedi and Sith, to the point where they can wipe nearly 50 reinforcements within a few minutes on certain maps. The Republic and CIS are a bit unbalanced; if the CIS has Magnaguards on any given map, they're almost sure to win, but without them the Clone Commandos will wreck them. I feel like this could be solved by either adding a similar melee class to the Republic side, like Clone Assassins or something, or adding a class similar to the Clone Commandos for the CIS, like Commando Droids. I really love this mod and I'm looking forward to its completion!
I only have a few minor complaints about this one, most of which have already probably been pointed out by people far more qualified than me, and some that are just personal preferences.
It seems that for whatever reason the CIS pistol models have been replaced with shotgun models. Also, the droid pilots' skins on Bespin: Platforms are completely black for some reason. There are a few other technical issues I have, but I think all of them are simply a result of this being the first version of the mod.
Personally, I think the Republic side is a bit bland. I love the addition of the Clone Commandos and I think they really spice up the side, but I don't see why that should be the extent of it. Why not have ARF troopers as engineers or something like that? I just don't like that all the clones look nearly identical aside from the minor additions of visors and such (also I personally don't like the Engineers' backpacks). I also always disliked that the Super Battle Droids were the main unit for the CIS, it always seemed strange, but I imagine that's not something that you can change without messing with script stuff.
I dislike the Magna Guards' hoods; that's something I always thought looked a bit dumb, I find them more intimidating with them, and they really don't work with their primary weapon; the addition of the cloaks makes the Bulldog RLR pistol look disproportionate to the wielder. Lastly, the Wookies barely look any different from their stock appearance.
Of course, the majority of this is my own dumb opinion, and I certainly don't want to seem like I'm trying to force them on you. I just felt the need to express how I felt, because I thought other people might feel the same way. Thank you for this amazing mod!
This map is really great. The only complaints I have is that I frequently found myself phasing through props and floors. Aside from that, this map is an easy 10/10.
Yes, a computer crash destroyed all the creator's assets.
Does anyone know a fix for the floating weapon icons?
How does one stop this mod from crashing every five seconds?
You can just create one in the GameData folder (name it "addon).
Which is better; this or Rising Son II?
There's only one thing about this mod that really bothers me; after a certain version (v.2 I think) Coruscant just doesn't work, which sucks because it was pretty much my favorite map. I have no idea what the problem is, as every other map works pretty much perfectly.
Hi, I just want to say that I really love your mods. I know the map is still in pre-alpha, but I thought it might be helpful if I listed some bugs. There are the obvious ones like the glitchy collision detection in a lot of areas, but I also noticed that sometimes the CIS will get down to one reinforcement, but if you've already transitioned to the palace section, that one droid will just hide out in the MTT, completely preventing victory for the Republic. I've also noticed that if you switch to the minigun as the Clone Heavy, you can't switch back to the regular rifle. I also found that a lot of cooldowns are so long that it makes certain weapons kinda nonviable for combat, like shotguns and miniguns. Again, I really love your work, thanks so much for making all this great stuff.
Any idea when improved droid and rebel sides will be available?
Alright, I've come to the conclusion that it's definitely not a problem with your mod, since New Frontier seems to be working just fine.
Are there any custom maps besides Yavin 4: Lake that this mod is compatible with? There are a lot of maps that would be really fun with this, so I'm curious if they are compatible, or if they will be in the future. Also, every time I try to play with the Ultimate Commander mod installed, GCW is replaced with said mod. Is this a bug in your mod, or in Ultimate Commander?
