Find a way to reach out to the people in charge of making the VR version of Doom, called QuestZDoom. The person you wanna find is named Dr. Beef. He has a version of the engine that runs on VR headsets, and unfortunately, this mod doesn't WORK there, where it would be most useful and important to be able to run. See what you can do to get this working standalone, or perhaps see what you can do to make it run in QZDoom, and it will be PERFECT.

Agreed, but one thing I noticed in QuestZDoom is when they're up and walking around they still just look like the sprites (it's because in VR you're the same height as them) but the voxels REALLY become noticeable when they die, since the bodies don't just follow your camera around anymore. It would be neat if for the sake of saving resources for QuestZDoom they made it to where only their dead bodies are voxels and when they're alive they're still sprites. You know, like a lite edition.

Very Half-Life Nihilanth. If it's a creativty block, there's nothing wrong with just taking these minor enemies like trites and babies and just remodeling the original concept designs. You've already built most of these guys from the ground up on new designs. By the way. I see those horrifying nipples. Thank you for the body horror nightmare.

Ya know, I check this nearly every day and every day I see new stuff is happening and I get closer and closer to playing the "are we there yet" game with myself. These models have all looked GREAT so far.

Quick note. The game mentions their mouths stick out of their face folds like a grub worm because they crew their way through the extra skin. Maybe add some scar tissue to the hole around the gumline? Not crazy amounts, but realistic scarring.

You know what's hysterical? Universal has made two Doom movies now and haven't thought to do this creative a job either time with their Pinky. That last movie didn't even HAVE a Pinky. Just a couple Imps and a bunch of Resident Evil Jovovich zombies and a main demon lord that kind of looked like a Doom 2016 Hellraiser. This is yet another perfect one.

Yeah, even the original Doom and Doom 2 had the gun pickup sprite that clearly had an ammo clip in it. Impractical, yes, it would probably empty in 4 seconds. But at least there WAS a clip to be seen so it wasn't just magically Pez dispenser-ing ammo.

So long as the blade looks longer and spins a little faster than it looked before it's perfect as you've designed it. That other dude complaining about the new hilt and handle doesn't know what he's talking about. Who sees a sharper-than-usual chainsaw and thinks "hipster?" I just think it looks like the saw from Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III. Which is awesome. Comments from haters is normal these days but The Saw is Family.

My basic reasoning on this one is that the quest has limited power. Staggering releases gives people like me the chance to sort of mix and match to find our preferred method of modelling for the game. Say you put it out as one single mod. Then it might not run in VR and everyone on discord will be all pissy because they've been excited for a couple months about it (we talked there before, I'm notdoomguy on discord). Release them as individual files, and now there's options and everybody's happy. That's a big deal.

You would think so but I barely find myself looking at the weapons in-game on doom3quest. Im usually focused on the monsters npc characters and environments. that, the pda, and my watch, it all keeps me from worrying about the gun models. Those were never really the problem, anyway, they look fine at least in VR. staggering is the best bet. I'm biting for it.

Just a quick question regarding hands. You're planning down the line on fixing the human characters' Danny Devito Penguin flippers so they have four actual fingers that move as a hand moves, right? That's literally the only thing that really ever bothered me about the humans and zombies is their baggy uniforms and their fused together oven mitt hands.

And if I were you, I'd limit it to monsters only for Quest/Quest2. With the redux textures and ungibbable mod running the show as far as mods are concerned, things may get process-heavy. A PC version can do full model modding, but Quest 2, I'd go with just human hands, human heads, and the monsters. Even then, I'd probably run at 1.0 SS with a refresh rate of 60/72. Regardless, this mod is VERY important to the whole D3Q discord. If you need help, they are there.

Take your sweet time, marine. BTW, that Sawyer the Chainsaw Zombie totally has a Chris Walker from Outlast vibe going for it. That's a good model!

I got a problem. The flare gun. Believe it or not, your mod works in VR with QuestZDoom for Oculus Quest. But the flare gun doesn't work, though, because the flares don't stick to the targets. They just sort of touch the target then hover in place where they were stopped. Can the flare gun work the way it did with Re-Blood? That flare gun's mechanics from Re-Blood would fix this problem permanently. I'm not saying steal Re-blood's code and assets, even though it's probably abandoned because I can't find anything recent about it. I'm just saying replicate its flare gun gameplay. You're the closest to a perfect VR port of blood, and you probably didn't even Know. Quickly, you can FIX this!!!! If you do, that's you being the first person to make a version of Blood you can actually walk around and take part in. PLEASE DO THIS!

I am, at some point, but right now my main concerns are the problem of spawning stuck running in place, and the lack of the Pain Elemental. But yes. I have models for the Spider (the unused and awesome Doom 3 Spider) and the Cyberdemon too.
