OK well since mod db wont respond ill post here for now.....

Ok so far we run into alot of dead ends mostly because lack of support so I have decided to switch engines on this mod..

We will be moving to the Source engine it is simpler to use and many more helping hands are available for this engine currently we are in between the Orange box edition and the original edition of the Source engine we may go with the orange box edition if so we are going to attempt to also have this mod ported to the 360 we will look more into that later.
Work will hopefully begin soon..

Please do post your comments about this switch I'd love to hear your opinion's.

Also keep an eye out for a dawn of the dead mod under the source engine because if mod db doesn't give me control of this mod agian I will be forced to create a whole new one...

Well we ran into some problems and we gotta remake the engine. Also alot of the original sources for just about everything were lost so now we are remaking alot of things in the game such as models.

I haven't updated it recently but the team is at 5 people including a mapper, modeler, sounds, a programmer ( me) , and an animator.

DDDDDDDAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMM
This mod is loaded with bugs and alot of it is simple stuff that the team should have caught during testing. I feel like I just got a leaked internal alpha for this game and not an accualy realese. For 3 years of work I would have expected soooo much more out of this game. I dont think you guys even went thru internal testing. Heres is a small list of errors that I have gathered and this is only few of em that are on my list and are nothing compared to how many this mod really has...: Simple map issues (such as the sidewalk in the newlow map you can fall thru it.), zombies not dieing (I dont know if your team did this on purpose but some times u can blow a zombie to pieces and I mean no head no legs no arms nothing. It will still live and can take massive amounts of damage and keep going like nothing happened. Also I run by zombies with the full auto glock (which is a bit faster then that in rl but it works so watever) and pop em in the head and they still attack with no head while with like any other gun they lose thier head and they fall and die now I don’t think this is really a weapon specific gltch but it’s a problem and I noticed it more so with the glock then any other weapon. Now this is more a personal prefence I guess but the scare events you have set up you really should make em move a bit quiker cause they seem slow and I can watch them go back and it loses its “scareiness”. For example when walking by one of the dark cells in the assylum a doll’s head pops up and then goes rite back down. Now that would have been awsome but it took forever to go back down and so it started losing the effect that you were trying to achieve.Theres quite a few texture glitches heres an example, In the second cut scene between john and his girlfriend near the church there is a truck in the back ground that john is supposed to get in to meet his father, now if you look at the tires the texture for them is wrong its acually on side ways. Double cut scene now I havent goten farther then the subway thanks to some awsome errors (general production faults. might wana look into these) but in the subway on the second to last train cart that blows up there is a glitch. It seems to be that somone on your team made the mistake of either putting 2 or more cinamatic event trigers or didn’t put the removal on the trigger so it stays there, so when you get to that train cart it blows up then you move forward and then camera goes around the cart again like there is another explosion and if you walk backwards it will do it again. Theres so much more but im not going to go any further. Now the idea for the mod is excellent the story needs just a little bit of work, but the ingame play needs a lot more work well at least glitch fixes.

accually no it isnt its still being worked on just things are slow because of me not having a team but im dedicated so im keeping things moving, slowly but moving none the less

well if we get a mapper and a modeler i could probably pump out an alpha/beta version of the game in about a month with a couple of maps and most of the weapons done. as of now ive got alot of my work already done when i was working with the original dawn of the dead. pritty much at this point i got all of the coding done excluding the future weapons and some multiplayer functions but the basics are downalready so seeing that we already got a headstart im hoping this will bring up the will of the rest of the team (when i put em togther... rite now its just me working away at this) to help finish this mod...

We havent worked on this mod in so long that although its hasn'rt been officially announced were pritty much dead.. since im not the leader i cant really get this thing up and running but earlier i began working on my multiplayer version of this mod and im gunna try and keep that one aslive i just need ppl to help me finish this mod. Dawn Of The Dead MP is the currentname for it ill be adding it to moddb soon so keep an eye out for it.

i read threw some of the questions heres a list of answers
1. Any chance for multiplayer (By zonssi)
yes there is a pritty high chance we will have a multiplayer only thing is it will more then likely be seperated from the single player game
2.Are those the final weapon skins or are they just temps? (By z6635 )
mmm ids say ify on that one i believe thoes were gunna be our finals butttt we may beaf it up a little
3. there a couple questions about our percentage of completion ... most of our programming is done thers prity much 1 map done and quiet a bit of modeling and art work done id say were at 45 - 50%
4.Is this a realistic Mod where only a good head shot kills zombies? because is really annoying when a shot in the foot kills them ( By RedCoat67)
yes this is realistic prity much the only way to kill them is a clean shot to the head other than that it takes like 100+ rounds to kill them in the body depending on ur gun... so aim for the head in this game
5.Will this mod work on the Hacked versions of Doom 3 ? - (cracked copys of the game stolen by hackers)?? (By RedCoat67)
first off we dont support hacking piracy!!... (who am i bull ********)
but we wil have to wait for some beta testers with ..."un official" copies.. to find out as all our copies are legit ..

hay guys im chris im one of the programmers for the dotd project it seems at one point our team fell apart and the project died for almost a year im looking top bring it back to life.. so farit seems that all we have left is me and marcus (leader / mapper).... wat im loking for is mappers.... Good mappers and mabey some artist that can do all the art work for the game were looking for some really high quality work to be done here if u want to join please drop me a line here or at my email (owner@fubarservers.com) if u can send a sample of ur work

please help us get back together.. this will probably be the final attempt to bring this thing back to life .. if we cant get any help the project will probably be trashed so :D

Rite now we are in the middle of remaking all models for the mod at this point we have about 7 diffrent weapons and they are all being reworked. We are not using any of doom3's weapon models we are doing everything from scratch.
