How stable is this mod now? I've been looking forward to it for years, but I don't want to play until it's stable and mostly free of annoying and game breaking bugs. I've waited this long, might as well have a bit more patience and wait for it to fully mature, you know?

Thanks for all your hard work, dez0wave.

See my post just below for a workaround for getting Vsync to work. But yeah, GSC definitely should have either fixed or removed the option from the config options.

Some games don't have Vsync built in, and the NVIDIA control panel Vsync option only works for OpenGL games. In these instances, I recommend Direct3D Overrider, which will force Vsync and Triple Buffering on pretty much any Direct3D app. It's a little utility that comes with RivaTuner. You have to install RivaTuner one time to get the Overrider files, but then you can just save the Overrider folder by itself and copy it around. So if you reinstall Windows, you don't have to reinstall RivaTuner. And even after installing RivaTuner the first time, you don't have to have it running or anything to use the Overrider.

Here's a link to RivaTuner at Guru3D:

Edit: This was intended as a response to boredgunner's comment, not sure why it showed up here.

Denouncing the responsible parties is all good and well, but the best way to show support is by donating. Thanks for all your hard work, dez0wave. I'm still very much looking forward to enjoying the hell out of this game.

Sorry I asked about this in here, I just discovered the thread related to that news post, the details of what the statement means has been thoroughly discussed already.

So the content won't be any different, it just won't be an "official" release? That seems like a strange fate to suffer because of a simple leak, that **** happens all the time.

In the "Latest News" post above there is discussion about the beta version that got leaked and how it is piracy and modders are forbidden from using it, etc. Then you say the following:

"This unfortunate event crosses out any chances to release LA as an official addon to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series. LA will be released as an addon for free."

What is meant by this? It comes across as a bit of a contradiction of itself.

I think he meant to reply to the comment above by lowenz. Maybe you shouldn't be so keen to assume people are idiots.

Wow, this is an amazing mod. I didn't even realize there were drivable cars until I approached one and hit F as a sort of reflex, not even sure why I tried. Imagine my surprise when I got in the car and started wheeling around the zone in style! Thank you so much for this mod, it's going to breathe a lot of life into the game for me.

Great! Thank you.

I have a question about weapon configs: If I alter a weapon's accuracy (by lowering its fire_dispersion_base), does it affect NPC accuracy as well as your own?

Thanks for the reply. So are the changes to NPC behavior isolated to the m_stalker.ltx file? Not including changes you made to the weapons config files.

I'm excited for all the features in this new patch, except for the increased NPC accuracy. I am enjoying the current level of difficulty and I don't want to make it any harder. Is there an easy way to remove that particular aspect of the patch? For instance, can I just delete the "m_stalker.ltx" file from the new patch to avoid those changes?

Ah, now that you mention it, I remember seeing something about "anomaly detector" in the notes, but I read it as "artifact detector" in my mind. Thanks again :)

Oh, I get it. Thanks, that's a big help!

One other question: Are anomalies supposed to be invisible? Or do I have one of my settings out of whack? I can see the point of invisible anomalies, I just wanted to make sure that that my configuration is working as intended.

If they ARE supposed to be, then it's going to be rough going. Some aren't even audible! But I guess it does make bolts a lot more relevant. And I guess I can stop carrying around energy drinks, since sprinting is a terrible idea when you're surrounded by invisible death traps :p

Interesting mod. Very challenging! I'm having some trouble unloading partially empty mags (so that I can fully load a couple). For instance, at the beginning of the game, I have very few bullets, but I've scavenged several partially loaded mags that I'm trying to get the bullets out of them to consolidate into one or two mags. I've tried equipping the partially loaded mags to the belt, then hitting 5, and then right clicking. It does the animation but the bullets don't change. Any suggestions?
