The server crash was not because of high traffic, the hackers performed a ddos attack on the site that overloaded the server. It was only down for a short time however.

I know we are supposed to not talk about the hackers, it gives them the attention that they want, but I think John wouldn't like people to get the impression their servers are slow enough to crash due to a high level of people trying to access it, in fact hundreds of thousand of people probably would have had to try to view hi res pictures at the same time for it to overload and crash the server.

Ram speaks the truth, the alpha was crap, there was like one ten second part that was finished, and it was all buggy. And like 4/5 of the levels crash your game if you try to open them, plus there's the rumor of the keylogger hidden in the files that installs and deletes itself from teh files when you unrar it...

You can't edit the BMS wiki anymore becuase people kept editing in there that it was dead, over and over again.

Leak isn't worth the download. It's just a lot of uncompiled maps that are really hard to fix up, and then aren't even that cool because it's like all WIP stuff, low res. And a lot of the models are just HL:S's. Really, it's not worth it at all.

So far the word on Blue Shift and Opposing Force is: there isn't one. They said they aren't thinking or talking about it at all, they are just concentrating on Black Mesa. They will think about it when the mod is released, but my sources say no :)
